After changing out of her travelling attire, Morgan settled down to wait for a message from Princess Kelsey. She dressed in a fine silk dress, violet with accents of white. It was otherwise relatively plain. She chose a book from her travelling chest and began to read.

Princess Kelsey arrives about an hour after Morgan settles in. She walks in and smiles and nods. "Welcome back to the Rock, Morgan! It's been ages!"

Morgan put down her book and smiled at the princess. "Yes, it has. How are things here, my lady? I may be a little behind the news lately, as I have been at Hornvale for the last months."

"Well, there is plenty." Kelsey counts off on her fingers. "War, peace, the northmen tried to kill my brother, Lord Stafford is dead, and I am being shipped off to Volantis to marry someone who may or may not be a tiger." She smiles sadly. "Not, all in all, a good few months."

"Ah yes. I heard a...rumour about your marriage," Morgan confided. "But I have been buried in my books lately, that and helping run Hornvale while the men are war. I heard you were not particularly happy about your betrothal, princess."

"Happiness is of a secondary concern," she says, with an unusual cadence letting Morgan know she's heard the line a million times. "But I hate these filthy Volantenes." She looks to Morgan. "How have you managed to hide for so long?"

Morgan smiled. "I was betrothed to a boy who wanted me no more than I wanted him, at an age when I was not vain enough to be offended by his lack of interest. We agreed to be allies early on. The betrothal gave me time to live as I pleased without fear of being pushed into an unwanted marriage, and it gave Jaime the freedom to wait until he was ready to marry the woman of his choice. My father was most wroth when Jaime broke off the betrothal but he got over it. Mother, on the other hand...she won't let me rest easily forever. I suspect a second betrothal will be harder to wriggle out of, but I am determined to prevail."
She paused and then asked "Why do you dislike the Volantenes so? I own that I would not like to be sent so far from home, and Volantis is a strange place from all accounts, but do you know something I do not? I did not know they were...savages."

Kelsey makes a disgusted face. "They have slaves, Morgan. Slavery and filth. All their sellswords smell of whores and cheap wine." She thinks. "I should just run away. I could find a husband elsewhere."

Morgan wrinkled her nose. "Slavery is a vile thing, Kelsey, but the peasants in their hovels and the beggars of Lannisport are no better than slaves themselves. They wear no collars, but they have no freedom either." She gave the princess a curious look. "Where else would you look for a husband, if I may ask? Do you mean to wed a lord of the Westerlands or the Reach?"

"Anyone in either," she said. "Even Lord Rycherd." She pulls at a hair. "You've never seen real slaves, have you Morgan? They make them lay in their beds naked, they make them kill each other for sport...they make them do bestial things for no good reason. I will not have it!"

"Of course I have never seen slaves," Morgan said. "Slavery is illegal here, as it should be. The Father will judge the Volantenes for their crimes, when the Stranger takes them. I don't think we have any power to help the slaves, even if you'd wish to. But maybe you could tell me more about your betrothed. i am not sure what can be done about that, unless I know more."

"He is called a tiger." He arches an eyebrow. "We now share the extent of my knowledge on the man." She shudders. "I hope it's a man." She looks at Morgan suspiciously. "Why are you so interested in my betrothed?"

Morgan's mind raced as she considered the situation. "i cannot help you if I know nothing about this man. I am not at all sure I ought to, but I would like to. But I do know what a Tiger is, in Volantis. They are a party of noble houses of Volantis, mostly warriors. They believe that Volantis will achieve glory and power through battle. They are opposed by the Elephants, who are tradesmen and prefer to gain power through trading. The two parties are often at war with one another."

"I hear there are three tigers," she says. "That must be why they are fighting so much. So he will be a brute and intent on conquering Westeros. My dear husband."
