Morgan sighed. "That doesn't sound appealing. And such a man would of course reinforce his position by using his claim through your marriage. Yes, i see it now. But I am not sure how you can get out of it. But you need to be careful, princess. There are those who support this marriage and will stop at nothing to see that it happens."

"Like who?" Kelsey's eyes narrow. "You know something." She walks over to the door and locks it. "What do you know?" She looks furious.

Morgan knew that even locked doors might have ears. "I would rather not say, for both our sakes. Let's say instead that the person in question has a significant degree of influence. I took a risk in warning you, but I think we must play the game a little longer. Refuse this match at present and both of us are undone. We must be vigilant, and let this person believe that we will dance to their tune."

"The ship leaves in just a few days." She stalks over to Morgan. "More influential than ME!? I find that unlikely, with Lord Stafford gone. Unless it's...oh gods damn her!" She kicks a chair.

Morgan responded with a frown since she dared not say much more. She put a comforting hand on Kelsey's shoulder.
"We must find a way to delay your departure. Pretend to be sick, whatever it takes to give us time. You can't handle a sea voyage if you are unwell, much less say your vows."

"I'm not so sure they will care," she said. "What gods will I say vows to, anyway?" She shrugs the hand off and goes to leave.

"Let me know if I can help," Morgan called after Kelsey. "I cannot bear the thought of another woman forced unwillingly into marriage."

"I will let you know if it can be done," she said. "Immediately."

"Of course. I will think about it," Morgan replied. "But I think you should feign acceptance, at least for now. You need to put them off their guard, so they give you time to think."

"Very well," she said. "I will try."

A nod from Morgan. "That's all you can do for now. My father says a battle is won by scouting out the territory before you commit your forces. You need to learn more about this situation before you have a chance to win the battle. I'll keep my eyes open while I remain her, but in public I must speak nothing but praise of your match."

Kelsey nods. "If you fail, I suppose I'm ni the same position anyway. Thanks for your help." She rises and walks out after unlatching the door.

News of 'King' Rycherd and Queen Jessica's wedding sends Casterly Rock into a frenzy. Princess Kelsey stays at the palace and directs the court while Lord Orson Banefort tries to ride about the West maintaining order. Morgan finds herself being called on to assuage random peoples' fears about what would happen if the entire Reach invaded, and rumors swirl that the king is dead or incapacitated.

The chaos made Morgan feel a little lost but she could only trust to the military might of the Westerlands and urge others to do likewise. But she knew full well that her own knowledge of hte situation was limited. She gave orders that any Reachmen currently in the Westerlands were to be detained for questioning. And then she went to look for someone who knew more about the situation than she did.

Princess Kelsey is seated in the throne room talking to people and trying to make some order in the chaos. She nods to Morgan. "Well, at least I'm not headed to Volantis," she says calmly. "How are you holding up?"
