"Thank you. I would like Your Grace's advice on whether I ought approach the king for military assistance before I travel to Oldtown. I would not wish to cause offence, of course."

"Military assistance?" Delila said. "You want to march an army on the Citadel? That seems a touch extreme."

"Not a whole army. I just need to show a significant presence in order to take control of the Citadel, and I've heard Lady Hightower may herself be in danger. But why would a woman with her own military forces be in danger? That doesn't sound good to me," she explained.

"If she is in danger, she will find her own conventional forces, I think," Delila said. "I suspect she has heads, but needs brains around her."

"Perhaps so, but I cannot rest easily until the Citadel has been dealt with," Morgan admitted. "The most educated men in all of Westeros were trained at the Citadel and many remain there. But until I have gone back and investigaged more fully, I won't know how many of them can be trusted. But I do want to help Lady Hightower, if I can."

Delila nods. "Well, I am sure we can send some swordsmen with you, but if this turns into a bloodbath it will look very poorly on our reign. We can hardly wipe the entire college out."

"I really do hope that won't be necessary," Morgan said. "The men who flogged me seem to think they control the kingdoms. They are the ones who must be punished. I'm convinced that there's only a small part of the order that is at fault here. If I'm right, there needn't be much bloodshed at all. My goal is reformation, not extermination. I want to ensure that the Citadel is dedicated to the pursuit of learning, fair access to knowledge and the good of the kingdoms."

Delila nods. "Well I wish you well. I am not so skilled in matters such as these, I confess. It is all rather odd."

"It is to me too,but I must do something. If I don't, only the gods know what power these men will gain over us all in the future." She glanced over to see if the queen had finished her soup. "If all goes well, I have high hopes for the future of the Citadel."

The queen has, and she rises. "As do I" She smiles and takes her leave.
