Arania crept out, standing behind her mother for a long moment before getting her attention. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but..." She sighed, feeling a bit contrite. "Well, I'm here, mother."

She turns about. "Arania. What a time you have had." She seems uncertain on what to say, with her errant daughter causing all manner of rumor and actual trouble.

Arania laughed nervously. "What a time indeed." She wasn't sure what to say either. "Well, I came to say goodbye, mother. I am joining the Northern envoy to the east. I've already spoken to father about it."

"Oh...well." she sighs. "I was never sure quite what to do with you, Arania. A mother just...wants her daughters to marry a good man and have lovely children of their own. I suppose the Seven have other plans for you, then."

Arania smiled a little at that. It seemed her mother was easily pleased. Perhaps she had been avoiding her for nothing. "Thank you for your blessing, mother." She hugged her, something she hardly did, not since she was a child.

She smiled when she let her mother go. "I'll be off in the morning, with the rest of them. I'd better get some sleep." She retreated to the tent.
