"Trouble me no further indeed," she said, getting to her feet and swiftly crossing the room to her father's side. She kissed his cheek. "I will go to the Keep on my own for now. Don't worry about me."
She exited the tent, not sparing a glance for Tyrell as she exited.

Rycherd was inwardly amused as Arania flounced out, but did not show it to her father. Just like the Lannister princesses, particularly the elder one. he thought.
He kept his features impassive as he turned to Arania's father.
"My lord Beric. You should prepare yourself for the thought that there may be war. I shall do what I can to prevent such happening, but you should perhaps send a raven to Oldtown to your subordinates to begin preliminary preparations. I shall be doing the same at Highgarden. If war eventuates we need to be prepared."

"It is already done, Lord Rycherd. My city guard shall add their reserves to create the foundation of a host should it prove necessary." He regards Rycherd coolly, his years of experience in dealing with people giving him a fair idea of how he viewed his daughter, if not an exact one.

Rycherd nodded.
"I am pleased to hear it Lord Beric. Who will lead your host?"

"If it has to mobilize fully? My bannerman lord Cuy will manage. He has proven battle experience on the Dornish Marches." Beric coughs, loudly now.

"Very good. Let's hope it does not come to that."
A look of concern came over the Lord of Highgarden's face as the old man coughed.
"Can I help Lord Beric?"

"Only if you can heal the sick, Lord Rycherd," he chuckled in a gurgling voice. "Just an old man's troubles, you know. Comes and goes day by day."

Rycherd still looked concerned. He liked the old man personally and he depended on him as a loyal and reliable bannerman.
"I can send my maester to you, Lord Beric. To give you relief in the short term at least."

"I have the whole Citadel at my call, Lord Rycherd. Even maesters cannot fight time, unfortunately. But I have my mind, yet; better than wasting away in the head and leaving the body sound." He drains a cup of strong alcohol and feels stronger. "But I should rest. I will need all my strength should this situation deteriorate."

Rycherd agreed. The old man needed rest.
"Then I shall let you be Lord Beric. I shall send word of any developments."
He turned on his heel and returned to his own pavilion.

/////////////////////////////////////////////// Trailed by four men wearing livery in his colors, Lord Yronwood approaches the Hightower pavilion. Practically everyone goes armed these days, and a longsword hangs at his hip. Two of his guards carry spears, and the other two maces, and all five of them are armored in chainmail. When he reached the Hightower pavilion, which was obviously guarded also, he announced himself and requested an audience with Lord Hightower.

A guard tells Lord Oberyn to enter, and offers water to his guards.
Lord Beric sits on a cushioned chair. "Lord Oberyn," he says, "Pray forgive my rudeness in not getting up; time is not being kind to an old man."

"It is of no consequence, my lord, I apologize for coming before you so guarded and garbed for battle, but it seems that rather trying times are upon us and it would not do to be unprepared," he replied, with a slight bow, as he enters the pavilion. "How does your daughter fare after such an ordeal? I heard that she was returned safely, but little beyond that."

"Well enough, Lord Oberyn." Lord Beric sips at a wine. "Usually I would give some smalltalk or such, but I am too curious. What brings my Lord of Yronwood to a Reachman's tent?"

"I have questions, I confess, that I would put toward the Citadel and since you are its Defender I thought you might be acquainted with some of their knowledge," Oberyn replied simply. "I saw things, that night..." he paused for a moment, and Lord Hightower was quite sure to which night he was referring. "I saw things that could not be, and yet they were, and I would ask experts from the Citadel how such might have been made possible. The dead rose up to walk and fight in Masonton, and I've heard rumors of Hollis Clegane fighting a man who was raised out of a puddle of blood."
