Arania bit her lip. It was hard to see him like this. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused, and all the worry I've put you through. What did mother have to say?"

Beric sighed. "She was quite speechless at her daughter being kidnapped from a brothel with a northern girl, I must admit. She kept bawling you'd end up a salt wife on Pyke, doing things I won't mention here to people I shan't name."

Arania shuddered to think of that...and what had actually happened. The Limper's fingers, exploring her, and her mouth on Amelia's breast, and... She pressed her legs together tightly. "I think, if anything, they intended to ransom me," she said in what she hoped was a reassuring manner. "I hope she's not too upset with me."

"She's plenty upset, but she can get over it. You're home, after all. And of course they would've ransomed you; I'd trade much and more for you sweetling. And we hardly lack the ability to pay, mind you."

She merely nodded. What else was there to say? "I know."
"Do you know what happened in the Keep? I've heard only rumors and whispers, none of them flattering to those whom they concern."

"Not really, love. Maybe your friend Amelia knows, since she is close to Benjen Stark, and he seems to have been the center of attention."

"Perhaps she does, though she seemed to be in a bad state last night." She thought about the wounds on her back, buttocks, and legs and how unsteadily she had stood. "You know I met the prince, though very briefly. I can't help but think the rumors of him killing Meghan so brutally are naught but lies. He didn't seem the sort." She laughed bitterly. "But they never do, do they, father?"

"As it happens, I agree with you. I knew his father once, well back in the day, when he was squired to old Jarvon Tully and I was up at Riverrun for a tourney. A good sort, and I doubt he let his son grow up the sort of monster it would take to murder someone like her." A cough. "But, then, you never do quite know."

She looked at him with some surprise. "I didn't know you'd met him before, the king in the north. Were the two of you friends?" she asked with a good deal of interest. She wished then, with a pang, that she had spent more time with her father. He probably could have told her as much as or more than her little books.

"Friends? Not really. Acquaintances, yes. Friendly rivals, even. There are few of the older crowd i do not know at least a little, Arania. I did not always spend all day trapped in my tower." He sipped at some wine. "I can still remember when I used to have...adventures."

Arania grinned at him. "Adventures?" She could hardly picture her father having adventures. He was not so old as all that, but he was her father and almost all her memories of him were domestic in nature.

"Why, I once...Lord Tyrell! How nice to see you." The aged man says. "Please, come in.''

Arania turned in her seat to see Lord Tyrell enter the tent. She paled a little, remembering how soundly he had humiliated her before...and the trouble she had caused by being kidnapped. She did not get up, but greeted him fro her seat. "Hello again, Lord Tyrell." She wondered what he had come for.

"Lord Beric." said Rycherd courteously to one of his most powerful bannermen. He nodded to Arania at her greeting.
"This is not a social visit unfortunately. I have heard what has occurred last night and have come to ascertain the facts for myself as well as on the condition of your daughter. If there has been insult done to House Hightower then it shall not go unavenged."
