A sizeable cluster of tents in the Goldlands camp, emblazoned with the Hightower crest.

Arania found her way back to her family's place in the encampment, where she took a furtive bath and was clucked over by the septa (who had conveniently vanished since their arrival in Mason's Keep and done nothing to prevent her charge from getting in trouble). Her cuts and bruises were salved and her hair was brushed into respectability.
When she looked as close to normal as was possible, Arania went to see her father.

Lord Beron's eyes are rimmed with black rings of worry from the night prior. He hugs his daughter tightly and gives her a seat. "Arania...what in the seven hells happened last night?"

"Well," began Arania, before she realized she had no idea where to begin. She looked down at her hands, fidgeting with her fingers. "I went along with Amelia Royce...and then the both of us were kidnapped, and then..." She looked back up at him. "We were rescued, and when we return we find everything fallen to pieces. Is it true that Prince Benjen killed Meghan Lannister?"

"I have no gods-damned idea." Her father's voice is quiet, weakening after the long trip and his night of worry. "Who is Amelia Royce? Who kidnapped you? Why were you at a brothel? Who even rescued you?!"

"Amelia Royce is...well she's a friend of Prince Benjen's, the girl who was assaulted in the Iron Islands camp the first day here. I met her in the Seven Kingdoms yesterday...and she decided on revenge. For some reason...I went along." She shook her head, thinking how stupid and foolish it seemed now. "And so we went to the brothel to find Clarence Blackwall...and we were about to...to exact her revenge when it all went wrong."
Tears welled up in her eyes again. "She said to run, but he was blocking the door. The Limper, but he didn't Limp. He took us...and Blackwall...and..." She started crying then. She regretted going along, but she didn't. She had no wish for Amelia to be dead. But her father, she could see the strain he was under. He was dying, he told her...and she had no consideration for him at all.

Lord Beric holds her close as she cries. "Are you all right, girl?" He strokes her hair softly.

"I'm fine, father." But I almost wasn't, she said to herself. She buried her face in his shoulder, her words coming out a bit muffled. "I never thought anything like this would happen to me. I was so scared!"
(its Beric!)

"You're all right now." She feels him cough against her, and he seems to be losing weight at a disturbing speed. "We need to thank your rescuers, for sure; Oldtown remembers." He kisses the top of her head.

She felt a deep pain growing in the pit of her stomach. He was so much worse already. The trip had not been kind to him. She sat back, wiping her face with the trailing end of one of her hanging sleeves. "We do. Catherine Mallister, Ragnar Drumm, Clarence Blackwall..." She managed a small smile. "Two Ironmen and a Riverlands girl."

"Okay, maybe we'll just go thank the north, then." Beric coughed once more. "And sooner may be better than later."

"Do you want me to go?" she said quietly, watching him. "I would like to see how Amelia is doing."

Beric frowned. "I shall go with you. I am still the Lord of Oldtown, right? Even if a dying one."

"Don't say that," Arania said to her father sharply, a pained expression on her face. "I don't want to think about losing you." So selfish, she thought. Always so selfish.
"But when shall we go? Do you mean now?"

"First, something to eat. So hungry...then, yes, before my strength leaves me for the day." Beric sends a servant for a meal of ham and potatoes and wine.
