The young princess turns to her. "Well, hello there. I don't believe we've met. I'm Catherine Stark."
//
Ella shrugs. "Well, you'd think rumors would have come out or something...but so far, our spies say there was a disturbance but it all got settled. The Sealord's words were 'a misunderstanding'."

"I'm Reyna Harlaw. Though I daresay I should say Dustin now," she said. "I'm Fyodor's wife," she explained. "This is a most magnificent castle, I must say."

"Oh, of coooourse! We heard the rumors...illicit love and all that," she said with a grin. "Now there's a story." She looks her over critically, but with a grin. "I daresay you look much more beautiful than most Ironborn ladies."

Reyna smiled at that.
"It's kind of you to say so, but most of them don't care very much for fine clothes and things. Truth be told, it's hard to come by silks and velvets on the islands, unless you have a father or a husband to pay the iron price for them. I have been fortunate enough to have the leisure to look my best. But I don't know whether I will in future. I have no notion how people live in the North."

"Well, you never know. If you got a good man he'll keep you looking as good as you do now, I'm sure." Catherine gestured to a horse. "Do you ride?"

"Not very well," Reyna admitted. "We have few horses in the Iron Islands. We don't need them, really, and our people much prefer ships. I rode a little when I lived in the Goldlands but I need to practice more

"Well, then, get on. You can stay near Arania; I get the feeling she didn't grow up riding either." Catherine can clearly sit a horse very well.

"Of course."
But Reyna was not used to mounting without assistance, so she got one of the stableboys to give her a hand and she was not as elegant as might be hoped once she was in the saddle.
"It's most kind of you to assist me like this. I feel quite lost here."

"Oh, don't mention it. Hopefully Dustin teaches you a bit better; we ALWAYS ride when the ladies are together."

"Oh. That's good. I would like to meet the other ladies," she said hopefully. "I rather hope the ladies here are more like me than those back home."

"Only better riders, I assure you," Catherine giggled. "Well, we've no lack of distinguished ladies in our company here. My dear husband's sisters, Delila and Meera, Ella Stark, Arania Hightower...why, a veritable collection of dignity."

"It's not dignity I seek," Reyna said, good-humoured. "I seek friendship and fun, and a companionship I could never quite find at home."

"Then I recommend you get your legs ready to be rubbed a bit raw, and for your backside to ache a bit. Riding hurts at first...like everything worth learning." Reyna's mare is older and mild tempered, and moves little unless specifically instructed.

She stroked the horse gently.
"I've sat a horse before. Just not very often. I know how to ride but I never gallop or try to jump or anything," she confided. "A nice sedate walk is all I can manage."

"Well, we'll tie your feet to the stirrups then; we only trot or canter here." Catherine's grin splits her whole face. "Never heard of any Ironborn being afraid," she winks again.
