"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have..." She bit her lip, hard, wishing she had done her questioning through books, or some other harmless method. "Damn it all."

"We'll be all right, Arania. We need to figure out why they would do something like this."

Arania crossed her arms over her chest, watching the ships in the distance. "I believe it was revenge for having Cassadar and the wizards slaughter the Faceless Men. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." She sighed heavily. "I think I will go inside, if you dont mind."

"Not at all. Your cabin is like it was," he says. When she enters her cabin she shares with Kalvin, it is pretty much exactly how she left it, absent only the few clothes she had brought on shore.

It seemed darker and emptier both, to be in this cabin alone. Arania sat down in the chair at the desk bolted into te far wall, staring out the window at the ships and feeling somewhat defeated. She got out the book she had taken from the Summer Palace in Meereen (and had forgotten to return) and tried to read. After a few long minutes she threw it down on the desk with a thud. The ships were still coming. There was nothing to do but wait.

After a few hours of misery, the ship begins to turn around in a slow, lazy arc.

She lifted her head when she felt the ship begin to tilt and turn. She lifted herself from the chair and went back out onto the deck to find Fyodor.

The evening sun is a slender crescent on the horizon as it vanishes. Dustin's long brown hair blows in the wind as he leans on the deck railing, his hands spread a bit, staring back towards Braavos. "They stopped chasing us far too early."

Arania hadn't even noticed the time passing. For all she knew, it could be several hours or several minutes. Either way, she expected it to be night by the time the ship began to be turned back. "That's worrisome." She yawned, covering her hand delicately with the back of her hand. "What if...well, I'm sure they have all manner of sorcery at their bidding. I just hope that isn't why."

"You said it was a Faceless Man who did it?" He frowns. "There's more to this than meets the eye, I am sure of it. You're not hurt are you? Sorry for not asking earlier."

"If I were, I would have told you. Just a bit of damp, though, and my biceps are a bit sore, thank you for asking." She looked toward the prow, watching the ship cut through the waves. "I agree with you, though. I wonder how the assault on Harrys Snow is faring." She frowned. "He's a sorcerer, whose favorite pastime is to toy with peoples' minds. I wish they hadn't gone."

"Sorcerer..." Dustin sounds like he's testing the word aloud. "If anyone can kill a sorcerer, it's Kalvin. He's always had a talent for hitting someone where they're weak." He smiles a bit as he speaks. "He loves you, but don't be fooled. He can be as ruthless as Cassadar if he needs to be."

She blushed, or perhaps the salt wind stung her cheeks. "I hope so, I really do. But the things I was told... I never thought such things could exist really. I thought wizards and magic and things were all just stories, things from Old Valyria that were long lost. How much further, do you think?"

"We'll hit the mainland by midday tomorrow at this rate. I wouldn't believe it either, but seeing dragons and having been around Mason Keep, well, quite an experience." He lets out a breath. "I'll definitely feel better having those extra swords."

"Such a long time," she said, frowning, though a day of sailing was nothing compared to the months at sea she had experienced before. "Where do you plan to put ashore?"
