Arania looked down at herself critically. It would have to do. "Thank you very much," she said, digging out a silver piece for the serving girl. She tucked the dagger into her waistband, then rejoined her guards. "Now, what do you think of going to the inn? Would it be safe to lie low there, and wait for Kalvin and the rest to come back?" she asked Merrick, leaning in to speak quietly to him.

"No, my lady. It won't be long before they hunt us down. We need to take flight to where they went, I think, or at least gain some ground. The Braavosi fleet will be hunting us soon enough." Merrick looks concerned. "We'll need to lay very low, I fear."

"So just leave everything here, our ships and all of it?" She frowned, wondering if it was to be a choice between certain death at the hands of the Braavosi fleet or uncertain death (or worse) at the hands of Harrys Snow.

"Oh no, I am saying we need to hide outside Braavos until we can explain what is going on. We need to get word to Captain Dustin."

Arania nodded slowly. "Very well then..." She looked between the six men. "Do we know where Dustin is? On the ships or at an inn somewhere? We should move on from this place, and one of you should seek him out."

"He was at the inn, my lady; I'll go find him!" one man says. "We can meet at the ships!" He and his friend dart off.

She watched them go, her heart thudding in her chest. Any moment she expected men to burst through the tavern door, naked steel in their hands and the sealord's revenge foremost in their minds. She looked to Merrick. "To the ships, then?"

"To the ships." Merrick and the three other guards slip out the back door with her. "It's quite a walk but we should be all right. Boat or foot, my lady?"

"The boats would almost certainly be faster, if you know the way through the canals," observed Arania.

"We can guess." Merrick says. "We know the general direction."

"Boats it will be, then," she said, making a beeline toward where they had left them.

Merrick stops her. "They might be watching those, Let's just steal some new ones."

"Oh...you're probably right." She scanned the canal, eyes open for any likely-looking skiffs or unattended barges.

Boats are all about. She sees a nice vacant one that can fit them all, and they run to it and take off in the canals, trying to stay ahead of the no-doubt searching guards. As they flee, she notices a few men in Starfall purple outside a tavern, lounging about.

Arania pulled the brim of the hat closer around her face as she noticed the Starfall men. That sigil made her heart skip a beat. She eyed them carefully from the shadow of the brim, thinking how silly she was to hide from them. Only two Daynes would recognise her, and one of them was dead. "How much farther, do you think?" she asked Merrick quietly.
