"Maybe a half mile?" he said. "We can land anytime and walk the rest from a direction they won't be watching."

"Alright." She continued to eye the Starfall men until they passed out of sight. "Perhaps. Don't you find it odd that we haven't seen any of them, yet?"

Merrick frowned. "I do. Perhaps this kill wasn't as spontaneous as it seems." As they say that, of course, they see guards wandering the streets, and people crying out the Sealord has been slain.

She was very thankful for the change of clothes just then, especially the hat. "We should probably hurry. They know I'm part of the Northern Envoy. The ships will be a target. Are we near the harbor now?"

"Close, my lady." A minute later, she sees the two remaining ships of the flotilla, one having stayed in Meereen, and three having ferried Kalvin to the mainland. "Hopefully the others got to Fyodor Dustin in time."

"Hopefully," she said, trying to see if there was movement on the decks. "Shall we go for them, then?" Her heart began to beat faster. They were so close. Just a little farther and then out of the harbor...

"No sense in doing otherwise." As they paddle to the ships, they see northmen untying the ships from the docks, and behind their little boat they see the sleek and dangerous black hulls of the Sealord's personal fleet. The men paddle faster and faster, but the sailing vessels are clearly much faster. "It'll be close..."

"Very close," echoed Arania, staring back with wide eyes at the approaching fleet. The little boat would reach the northern ships, and then the fleet would be on them. They had wasted too much time, she feared.

The northern ships break from the docks and the little boats reach them. Ropes are thrown overboard to help them climb aboard. The guards swiftly scamper up them, and Merrick ties it about Arania's waist so she doesn't slip and fall in her haste. As they clamber aboard, the smell of burning pitch is evident as a flaming ball lands near the corsair. The ships flee north and west, away from the pursuing flotilla, but also away from the mainland of Essos. Admiral Dustin comes to the shaken lady's side and takes the rope off her. "What in the name of hell is going on, Arania?"

Arania shook her head. "I hardly know. I was having an audience with the Sealord, and then he threatened to sell me to the Daynes, and then the last of the Faceless Men showed up and framed me for the assassination of the Sealord." Her knuckles went white gripping the railing of the ship. "I was digging for information about Cassadar, and about Harrys Snow. Very dangerous names, both of them."

"Very dangerous," Fyodor observes. "I had no idea Braavos was so close to Lord Bryce." Behind them the ships aren't making ground, but aren't losing it either. "I don't know how we can get word to Kalvin and that ironborn that they cannot return to Braavos..."

"Apparently Lord Bryce did the late Sealord a favor once. It must have been a fairly important one, the way he acted." She eyed the ships that still followed, wondering how far they would have to go until the fleet turned back. "Can we not sail to...Norvos, was it? And attempt to meet up with them there?"

"Norvos is almost three hundred miles inland, my lady. Far in their mountains." He thinks. "Perhaps we can split up and double back, though. But not until nightfall at the earliest; we must be out of sight of land."

"I should know that," she muttered under her breath. "How far do you think we'll have to go? What if they head back to the city without us?" She shivered. Perhaps it would have been easier had the Faceless Man just killed her as well. She didn't know why he hadn't, why he had simply set her up as murderer instead.

"We'll split up tonight...we can't let them SEE us do it or else they'll just follow both of us. They have the numbers to." Dustin frowns. "But I don't like it either."
