Overlooking the Purple Harbor lies the Palace of the Sealord of Braavos.

A day after her excursion to the Iron Bank, Arania decided to speak to the Sealord. She would have to be more careful this time. Bandying her name about in connection with Cassadar's was a terrible idea, as she was coming to find. She had a young maidservant corset her to within an inch of her life, thrusting her small breasts up and out like apples on a platter. Something red and cut low across the bosom was complemented by the merest hint of rouge to her lips. Looking at herself in the mirror, she sighed and thought of Amelia. She said a quick prayer for Amelia and Danya in...wherever they were, and for Kal as he rode out with the Ironborn against Harrys Snow.
After a long time of staring at her face in the mirror, she got up and found her guards again before setting out across the city to try to speak with the Sealord of Braavos. A long scarf wound about her face and shoulders saved her blushes as she walked over the bridges and islands. At last they were there, and the Palace loomed over them. Arania felt nervousness, but she still approached the guards, saying in first Westerosi, and then in Valyrian that she requested an audience with the Sealord.

She arrives at the Sealord's palace; a haphazard seeming affair spread over two smal islands, connected by two bridges. The firs tisland is something of a gateway, where her guards are detained by several rough-looking men in the Sealord's colors, while a young woman comes out to greet the strange lady. She is tall for a woman, a shade under six feet, and slim, and has a bravo's blade and a strange shaped dagger on her belt. "And who are you?" she asks, not rudely, but brusque.

Arania bit her lip and said the first name that came to her mind. "Amelia Royce, of the Northern delegation to Essos." She felt dread, then, using her friend's name in that way, but quickly fell into the role. She smiled at the woman, only a few inches taller than herself. "Might I speak with the Sealord, then?"

The woman looks her over and purses her lips. "You may. Hold out your arms."

Arania did so, wondering why she should need to do such a thing. She wondered also who this woman was. "You have my name, might I have yours?"

She gets frisked quickly, the woman checking every spot for hidden blades or whatnot. "Gina Delangue. I am Sealord Krassos's personal bodyguard. Follow me." She leads her across one of the bridges.

She felt it was rather invasive to be checked for weapons in that manner, but she supposed it must be necessary or it would not have been done. She tugged the scarf closer about her shoulders as she followed the woman. "How long ha he been the Sealord?" Arania wondered aloud.

"Thirty-one years," Gina answers as they walk. "A bit over half his life. Don't they teach you all anything in the North?"

"Pardon, I know far more about my own continent than about yours," she said absently, taking in the scenery they passed by.

"I hope so," she mutters as they walk. Arania sees gardens and training yards and all the comforts of any other castle. Rather than building up, the overall pattern here is a building for every imaginable purpose. The one they finally enter i barely larger than a typical cottage, but there the Sealord is, seated on his small throne, staring at her with intense and nimble eyes. "My, my, who have you brought me today, Gina?"
"Says her name is Amelia Royce, Sealord." He grins and turns to her.
"Really, now? How are you today, my dear northerner?"

"Quite well, thank you," she said, curtseying. She felt a sense of foreboding, feeling like a mouse in the den of a badger. "Your palace is quite beautiful. Thank you for welcoming me here."

"I couldn't turn down such an esteemed and lovely guest, now could I?" He has a faintly creepy old man stare at her chest, which looks much more seductive in the tightly laced corset. "What can Braavos do for you?"

She almost regretted letting her scarf fall aside, revealing the tops of her breasts and a little more to his eyes. But if he perhaps was interested enough, information might flow more easily. "I am simply curious. We are returning home to Westeros soon, having seen the wonders of New Valyria, and I could not leave Essos without a meeting with the esteemed Sealord."

"I see, I see. Gina, leave us." The woman harumphs and vanishes off through a door. "I do hope it is to your liking, my lady. We aim to please here in Braavos, after all. The greatest city on either side of the Narrow Sea, if I may say so."
