This is where I want payers to air out their wish list of things they do and don't want to see in a game. If enough people go one way or another, it's worth my time as an admin to either take the time to include things or just not waste the time.

Minor issue but Vardis on Felix's game raised the issue of having ladies' favours count for something so perhaps a +1 bonus could be given in tournaments while a knight has a lady's favour.
Is all the info about the setting and stuff up to date?

Getting worked on; I'd say like 90% accurate though; most changes will end up being cosmetic. As to the favor thing...I mean, I could, but then I'd have to introduce penalties for sucking really badly...

I could definitely do without scenarios. I have no inclination to write them these days.

Hi Forgotten. Will, will there be scope for middling rank characters and personal storylines? I'm guessing yes, after what we've said on FB chat but figured I should make sure. To be honest, my interest in RP has been flagging for a while and I'm so close to giving up so I will need to be really careful in choosing character(s) who maintain my interest and whose storylines I can get emotionally involved with, because that's key for me. I'm just not that bothered about large scale storylines and wars at the moment. (Sorry, Frances, I wish I was...)

There's a large scale storyline, but I'm thinking of this more as an MMO style open world than a single player video game. I want the SC people to run their own little mini-plots and such for characters' seconds or the knightly characters who are firsts and such. check out the Wanted board for some miniature game within a game stuff I want to do. For personal storylines and such, I mean, that's a PC responsibility to me, to figure out what he/she wants and then go for it.
My thoughts on middle rank characters are really positive; lesser lords and wealthy knights, etc have a whole lot more "freedom" to go forth on the world-spanning kind of stuff that I htink people forget about. Prince Stark isn't going to be able to run over to see the Great Valyrian War in Meereen and such; he has too many duties in Westeros. However, Prince Stark's childhood friend Harris Arryn may decide to represent his king's wishes and head on over to see what is going on, etc. In general, if you're a big strategic style thinker, an LP might be the right answer, but if you just want good old fashioned RP without worrying about moving armies and such, and taking part in battles maybe using niche skills like raiding or ambush, then I recommend a slightly less "important" character. My seconds and thirds have more starting points than characters in most games anyway, so they are still useful even if your first is otherwise occupied.
As an example, this is the setting to play something like an actual mercenary captain with the localized sort of conflicts I expect. Or a spymistress who wants to stretch her web across the lands, or whatnot. Like the books, for example, for the most part, the actual movers and shakers are NOT LPs, with the exception of Tywin Lannister. They are the Tyrions and Davos's and such who actually take a plan and make it happen.
Hope that answered that question.
Moving to scenarios...I remember some of the awesome Faith of Westeros Scenarios some of us did in groups to really tell the story behind the story, as it were. That sort of stuff is great, but yes, to me there is little sense in rewarding players for grinding out a mindless encounter with bandits and such. The Wanted bandits and outlaws provide a much better tapestry and means of "levelling up" characters in my opinion, so running those in closed RP sessions makes more sense to me. With how the books are written, though, I htink bonuses to skillups for well written viewpoints on a major event would be really cool, like if say...Jaime and Robb both had a chapter covering them during the Battle of Whispering Wood.

I've always been an advocate for having at least three characters. It just makes it easier to be able to play at most levels of the game and also have a character for each specific "skill type", aka "Commander" "Fighter" "Intrigue" or such. It just leaves a lot of doors open for players and makes it easier to help connect multiple threads.

yes lets bring back the importance for 2nds and thirds. people often discard them or just use them as a sword hand

500 and 400 points in abilities...i feel that is more than enough versatility for a clever player.

Agreed. Should allow for different options than the level system too.

Anything I can do to help Martell? It seems like a lot and I would not mind pitching in if you need it.
