"I'll be taking that," a young man says as Uhtred grabs the sword. "I did make the goddam thing, after all." The fleeing enemies are miles away now, and the ten hour night battle has crushed the energies of most of the men. "And I didn't make it to give to strangers." As they talk, the Crowl and Kalvin Stark and the woods crew arrive. Ser Dudley has bandages all about him.
The giant king looks about the battlefield, seeking its subjects. The carnage is total, and the castle's gates sit wide open. Bodies are starting to be organized. Thousands have fallen, and more corpses are seen with every tent moved.

Uhtred stares in surprise at the stranger, but gives up the sword. Most wouldn't want something like it after all, and if the man spoke true...
"You made it? So you're the one known as Greenriver? I've heard of you" He appraises the man.

"Greenriver was the man I got the statue from," he said. "I'm Nick." He frowns as he looks over the scene. "You've been around things you shouldn't be," he said. "The stench of demons is all over you." Lord Arryn has the men move the injured royals to the castle as the armies start to move. He turns to Farwynd and Snow.
"Prince Arthur is taking a few thousand men south to Starfall. We need some...volunteers."

Gods fucking damn. A man who understand. "You have no idea how much I agree with you Nick. Now I'm wrapped up in all this shit, and I see no end to it." He offers his hand "Uhtred." He looks to Lord Arryn "Volunteers for more men to go? Or did you have something else in mind?"

"No, to write poems about the goddam experience!" Nick chuckles as he shakes his hand.
"Fuck it, I'll go." Ellaria Dayne and about five hundred men agree to follow the Dornish remnants. The total force is two thousand, all ahorse. Lord Walter smiles at Robyn as she's carted away a momoent, then goes to find some more people. He asks Ser Lyonel and Korben and anyone hale enough to travel. Kalvin Stark is moving south, also, as is the giant king, though most of the giants have reached the end of their ability to tolerate the hot days of Dorne.

Uhtred is in with going to Starfall. "I hope you don't mind, but do you have any leads on getting more of those things?" he nods to the statue "It seems like something that we need. Were more made in Valyria?"

Korben mounts up and gets ready to ride, Looking to the others as he holds up his axe, "Let's go kill a brat." he said, ready to go.

"If I knew of more I'd have made more swords," he said. "It is a fairly singular piece." The host moves south on just a few hours' rest, riding like hell for Starfall.

Uhtred will ride with the host but still talk to Nick on the way. Man seemed like he actually knew things. "Singular we know about maybe, but something that was that useful, I'd think there'd be more. And if one got created, who'd say that more couldn't be made?"

"It's not a question of can't make them," Nick said. "The Valyrians made a few of these before they realized that doing so weakened the magics that held their volcanoes at bay. The creators were slaughtered almost six hundred years ago, at least a century before the Doom. This one survived by heading to the farthest, dimmest corner of the planet," he says, waving his hand about. "A continent filled with peoples ignorant of the power of sorcery."

"So even if you had everything you'd need, the way to make em was eradicated 600 years ago?" Uhtred whistles "Seems like it didn't help them control the volcanoes though. Damn. Things would've been useful. Doom probably wiped out any records of it." He stops himself "But then, you seem pretty knowledgable about sorcery? Where are you from? How'd you end up here?"

"I've been to Yeen too," he said. "I'm Ben Stark's brother. Just not on both sides." He arches an eyebrow. "Perhaps Old Valyria's ruins have some word, but only a real crazy son of a bitch would try looking there. No one I know who ever went came back sane."

Uhtred cocked a eyebrow "Too eh? Who told you about that trip? I don't see it as helpful to spread around what happened there" he shakes his head roughly "Rather just forget it honestly. Old Valyria. Ugh. Still, might be necessary how this plays out. Have to do what you have to do."

"No one needs to tell a real sorcerer when someone has been to the Temple of Vhagar," he said. "The stink of that place coats any who ever go there." The ride south is shockingly uneventful ove rthe days, and Starfall burns in the distance. "Of course he burns his fucking castle down," Nick said. Ellaria is incandescent with fury.
