Personal History: Korben was the second child of Lord Baelor Kenning, and middle of his children, with an older brother named Byron and a younger sister named Rohanne. His mother was a Costayne, and died in labor from his sisters birth. Korben was too young to really remember much about his mother, but Byron wasn't, and would pick on Rohanne for what happened. Korben would often fight with Byron, sometimes with words, most times with fists, whenever he felt the eldest was getting out of line, and their father had little patience for when any of them would act up. It was an unoffical rule, that fighting would be done well out of earshot of their father, as he preferred collective punishment to individual discipline, fathering with fear more then with love. Korben lacked a lot of the discipline his siblings had, following his fathers wishes and tasks only enough to meet them, and never really going beyond the letter of what was expected. Except for one thing, combat training, where Korben found a lot of enjoyment in learning how to wield an axe against his foes, even preferring it over a sword in battle.
Korben enjoyed battle, and surprisingly painting as well, finding it relaxing even with his lack of skill in wielding a brush well, and did it more as a hobby when he had some free time. Korben was passed by his brother byron as being their fathers favored son, and while Rohanne seemed perturbed by it, Korben didn't seem to care about inheriting his fathers lands, seeing it as too much work and responsibility when compared to riding a horse through the lands and keeping the peace. Moreover, being a lord, Korben reasoned, meant he wouldn't be able to do things like take part in tourney's or travel the countryside, which were some of his favored activities to do. During a tourney event, Korben took a bad hit to his helmet during a melee and went blind in one of his eyes, though he still fought through the injury to come in at third place in the Melee. Still, the incident made Korben wary of such events, and he did not participate in the first tourney between the three kingdoms, preferring to serve as a knight to keep watch of his family over fighting. As things have begun to spiral out of control, Korben is wary more and more about the war effort, even his own love of battle being quenched with seeing their king's decisions have such impact upon the goldlands, and hearing tales of the borderlands. His mind is also turned towards the west, worried about the Ironborn during this time of crisis, his family having been hit hard during their raid of Lannisport and fears they may strike again, this time without the north to help repel the attack.
Physical Description: A young man with a lot of age on his face, dirty blond wavy hair and a close cut beard, both of which are kept in a somewhat untidy style. He has fair skin that as seen both sun and sea water upon it, and has an oval shaped face with soft and a bit broad features with his nose, along with a pointed chin. He stands at 5'10, shorter then most men but not by much, and while he does have broad and always tensed shoulders, he is still thinner than he aught to be. He has one dark blue eye, his other eye missing and covered with a plain leather eye patch.
Reputation: Korben has a reputation as a good knight and competent fighter, and one who prefers to use a large axe in battle. He is also known to some as being a somewhat dim and narrow minded individual, though also one open to new ideas. Manipulable, and useful as a fighter.
