Lyonel Vikary in possession of the castle of Kingsgrave, with his two and a half thousand men manning the walls, watched from the tallest tower as the two armies rolled into view in the Pass outside the castle. The pass was quite wide, yet both armies filled the flat area. Give their size, neither would be able to squeeze past the other, unless they could somehow get them all into the Red Mountains.
"Impressive." he remarked to Korben Kenning, standing beside him. "I'm glad we hold the castle rather than the Dornish."

"I'd like to see that dornish prick beat this..." Korben said with a grin as he gave a wave to the army below, "Oiy! Welcome to Kingsgrave!!!" he called out with a wide grin.

Uhtred adjusts his shoulder plate as the army moves into the pass. The new armor was still ill-fitting, he still had to adjust the straps a bit. Must be the reason Knights kept squires around to do such things. His horse moved along the path as he looked up at the figures on the castle. He tipped the widebrimmed hat he had picked up in the stormlands to the man waving. Rather them than him to take such a place.

Prince Benjen rode at the head of the host, looking up at Kingsgrave and seeing the men on the ramparts. It was almost time, though the amount of men in this army felt almost unreal. He'd commanded big armies but this was something else. All these men's lives under his command... he shook his head. They were here for a reason.

The four armies assembled make a force truly unparalleled in size for Westeros. The camp is larger than almost any city in the kingdoms. From the south, scouts report that the Dayne host is large but vastly outnumbered, and the Martells are leading men from Vaith and across the land to strike from behind their fortifications.

The wildlings and the giants fare poorly in the stifling late spring heat. The raised tempers lead to quarreling and fights every hour it seems. As the army masses and tries to practice some form of common command structure, a few thousand men in a ragged band are spotted heading north up the pass.

Darius was not gonna miss a fight like this for anything, and so as he readied for the fight, he was in good spirits, with a wineskin that never seemed to run out in one hand.

Prince Benjen had a rainbow flag prepared and set out with a contingent of his own men to see who was approaching and speak with them if they wished to.

It appears to be a giant group of families on closer inspection. Their nominal leader is Lilith Blackmont. She approaches the prince. "Prince Benjen, Dayne has gathered any power remaining to him at Skyreach. He let us go three days ago, said we were just eating all the food and he didn't feel like dealing with us." The children look half starved. "He's doing some sort of...ritual," she said, clearly exhausted and starved herself. "Any prisoners he has left are being slaughtered. Whole houses are near extinct."

From his vantage point in the castle, Lyonel Vikary shaded his eyes to try and work out who was moving up the pass.

"A ritual..." Benjen said, the hairs on his back already standing on end. He turns to one of his riders. "Head back to the camp; we need water and food for all of these people. Use anything and everything you can find at Kingsgrave." He turns back to Lilith. "Lady Blackmont, I am glad you and your group made it here. If Bryce Dayne is preparing a ritual however then the army needs to march soon. But please, come to the camp. You all need rest."

The people walk into the camp.
The next morning, after being served food and drink, a fifth of them are dead.
