An hour or so later, following a descent from the treacherous double trails that wind down the mountain that the Roost sits on, a tall black haired man appears on top of the small but heavily fortified gatehouse fort that guards the only real way up the mountain. He is in dark grey plate and peers down. "You didn't telll me you'd have so many guests. I fear that I am quite unable to feed so many. Best go home, now, before Queen Savinia makes Winterfell into the new Hardhome," he says, cheerily enough.

"Lord Star is no doubt already on his way, but I thought I would stay down here for a while. A nice ally you have yourself there, what with King's Landing and all." Benjen studied the man, various guards as well as Amelia Royce by his side. "Mind if we all invite ourselves in?"

"Oh," Jonarth said with a shrug. "I'm not one to bash family, but my wife's dear father is something of an unholy terror, it's true." He looks over Brynden Lannister's army. "Regrettably, I find myself short of seats and beds and hospitality. I imagine King's Landing has plenty of open brothels now, with everyone fucked up there." He counts the banners of the army. "My dear wife would be quite wroth if she was caught so exposed, my prince; with so many guests and so little opportnity to host them. Come back in a year or so; I'll have plenty of seats for you."

Benjen bit back a sarcastic and angry response, instead forcing himself to shrug in turn. "Tell you what, why don't we set up a small table right here. Six seats; two for you and Ellaria, one for King Brynden, one for Amelia and one for myself. We can have ourselves a private little feast."

"It's so buggy outside," Jonarth said. "Come inside and have a bite. Ellaria cooks a savory wild boar. I'm sure the cooks already have one properly seasoned." He cracks his neck to loosen it up. "Thank you, by the way, she has been such a loving bride. I apologize for the political volte face, but the opportunity to rule Dorne just tugged right at my heartstrings," he said.

"Apoligies, but I fear that if I come into your castle, I won't come out again. At least not in one piece," Benjen stated. "As for your alliance with Bryce... you know he isn't going to let you rule, don't you? Even if he wins, which he won't, he'll kill his daughter and he'll kill you."

"Why wouldn't he?" he said. "He sure will not let that son of his do anything important. He did mention you'd come to see his daughter; he believes you have some sort of soft spot for her. How adorable," he says. "If you won't come in to eat then I suppose I must ask you to leave."

Benjen sighed and looked up to the keep, then back down to Jonarth. "I'm afraid we can't do that. Now, we can either lay siege to you, assault your gatehouse, go up and assault your keep causing the deaths of many men. Or you come out and fight me."

Jonarth stopped looking amused, all of a sudden. Brynden nudged Benjen. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
The Vulture King stared down a long moment, looked at his men on he wall, then back to Ben Stark. "Noon tomorrow."

"Good. If you win we will leave your lands and never return, your rulership uncontested. If I win, your men will join this host in its endeavor to bring down Bryce Dayne."
Benjen turned to Brynden and gave a simple nod.

Lord Bolton frowned. "My prince, if you die so does the North."

Benjen turned to Bolton and shook his head. "The North is more than just a man, Lord Bolton. But I will not die." He looked back up to Jonarth.
"I will see you at noon then, out here. I will bring a single witness."

"Thirty thousand of them, looks like," he said.
Cley Bolton frowned. "As you say, my prince."
