"If they do then I hope they left them behind," Benjen said darkly, looking into his cup before smiling and drinking. "I believe Kal Stark will go up and deal with them now that King's Landing... now that the city is moot."

"Kal..." She said. "He has my damned family sword." She is clearly not the biggest fan of the man for reasons that shouldn't need to be mentioned.

"Dawn," Benjen said, finishing his wine and managing to pour some more. "I spoke with Kal about it a while back... he said he'd give it to a Dayne worthy of the weapon." He shook his head. "Not his to give."

"He isn't, but I'll talk to him again. You'll get your sword," Benjen told her. "And Starfall."

"He is rather persistent," Benjen said, downing more wine to fight the pain of his arm and to get drunk, because getting drunk was awesome. "I will die before I let your father commit any more atrocities. And to..." He pointed vaguely in her direction. "To bring shame on your house!"

"Waster of a perfectly good political marriage," Benjen said, spilling some wine. "The Goldland alliance is secure. Hah, there we go... I want," He raised a finger. "What I can't have! Genius!" He downed his drink again.

"And look how happy it had made me," Benjen responded with an ironic smile. "The more you have the more it weighs you down. But I am doing my best to try and remain human, Ellaria... to enjoy friendship while I can still have it. Kings don't have friends."

"I'm your friend, Ben." She stares sadly at him. "Men would die to be you. Better to carry the load than be dragged under it," she said.

"Oh I'll carry it, until my back breaks," Benjen said with a bitter smile, the sadness of it all sobering him up a little. "No one should wish to be in my shoes. Especially not after King's Landing."
