Uhtred'll dedicate 500 of his men as well to the campaign, but will remain at the harbor, securing the Redwyne strait and keeping the ships safe. His place was at sea after all, and his scouting force, led by Giocanda, remain out.
Thre Forte will command the 500 detachment of Titans, and will offer his services to Harwyn, likely commanding the scouting forces and overseeing siege work.

After a few days, the remaining organizd forces are found on one of the arbor's tallest mountains, in a secure but small fortress with but a single trail leading to its entrance. It is called the Arbor's Eye.

Ragnar posted a dozen men as sentries and met with Harwyn to discuss the situation. He was not pleased to discover that there was indeed a fortress in the mountains, much less with only one trail leading to the entrance.
"Can you get your scouts in closer?" He asked. "We need to know if there is any other route into the castle. Our strength lies in the sea, not in siegecraft. We must use all our wiles to deal with this fort."

Thre sits to the side, the sun feeling good on his skin. This southern weather felt more natural to him, though the aches and pains of a long march still wore on him. His men have already laid out his trestle table and he was busy sketching a map of the surrounding area, the better to plan. He shakes his head at Ragnars words "We could, but we risk losing men. Still, there is wood enough for assault ladders, a covered ram. I'll send the men closer, while we could have the others start collecting the wood we'll need."

+1 scouting, but there's no other entrance.

After the reports, Thre just shrugs and finishes with his map of the area. He lays it out on the table and begins marking positions of the men and the fortress, laying out potential options for his superiors. Ladders, Rams, potentially catapults if enough time is spent and they could get the rope. The men live on ships, surely they know how to make good rope.

Ragnar came closer to examine the map. "I don't like this," he grumbled. "This is no way to make war. We need to think about supply lines. I've no interest in a long siege, but we need to make damned sure they have no hope of relief or extra provisions. And there is their water supply to consider too."

Thre squints at fortress "Probably have their own water supply this high up in the mountains. Maybe a spring or something. And obviously they knew it was coming to this, so stockpiles are set as well. Siege'll be a long one unless we storm." He shrugs and starts writing down the numbers "good thing is though, single path out we could actually fortify this position, build a palisade across the path so if they wanted to sally forth, we'd have the defenses."

"So do that, if you think it necessary. But we cannot engage in a long siege. That is not our way. Our way is blood and steel, the song of dying men and screaming women, not sitting in camp starving our foes out."

Thre turns his squinted eyes to Ragnar "You're in charge here" he turns back to his preperation "The Captain told me to offer advice. If you're looking to storm the place, ram on the gate, ladders on the walls, bows behind large shields, it could be done, I've seen it before. It'll get bloody though, lot of men will die who don't need to. I can start the preparations right away milord."

Ragnar folded his arms across his chest. "I mislike both options. We will see what Goodbrother wishes. Have you considered fire arrows?"

Thre turns his gaze back to the fortress and squints "Yes, but unless it's during a actual assault, once we're in bowrange, they can fire straight back and they have the height and fortifications to make us lose any kind of exchange of fire. Still a possibility." OOC: What kind of fortress is it? I assumed stone because of mountain, but if its wood that'd be good to know.

"We will consult Goodbrother," Ragnar answered. "But we ought at least offer the defenders the chance to surrender. We don't know how many fighting men they have. If there are only a few, they would be fools to prolong a siege."

The older man nods, it was good sense and if they didn't have to spill blood, no reason to. Besides, he'd overheard about what the ironborn had planned for the place, and having slaves work was better than yourself. His Captain was too braavosian for that, but he'd been a slave and gotten out of it. It was a natural thing in life, can't avoid it.
He raise his knuckles to Ragnar "I'll get the wood for whatever we eventually do" he says as he moves off to coordinate the Titans to start chopping down tree's and preparing the lumber. Good sailors had to know good lumber, and it suited them.
