Karyl and company make their way towards Runestone from the North. Most of the journey was eventful as they approach the lands of the Royce's.

Jason had spent much of the time travelling silently, allowing hope to feed his thoughts as they marched. Command of the force being given to Crowl was perfect to him, having felt uncomfortable any time he was in command of men. As they neared their destination, he shifted his shield on his back. "This siege may decide the war for the Vale."

"If we are able to lift the siege, then Royce and his men will join us. And then we march on Gulltown, which surely will decide the war for us." Crowl reponds.

"When all of this is done, you could probably single-handedly demand their surrender. Few men beyond me wish to fight the Crowl."

"I'm sure there are men out there like yourself who want to prove themselves against me." The Crowl counters. "Whether they get the chance to is another thing."

"Tell you what, then. When this is all done and I'm looking at the boat that's taking me to the Summer Isles for the rest of my life, we'll give it a shot." Jason offered his hand to the Crowl, grinning.

"You two know there is more to this world than fighting, right?" Lars chimes in. "I for one hope that we can end this war soon. Then I can return to hunting."

Karyl reaches across from him and takes the mans hand. "Then let us make it that first, and we shall see how you do."

Jason nodded, then looked over to Lars. "Of course I long to settle, to hunt, to love. Before all of that, though, I must fight. Those who have done wrong must be found so that we may have that chance. Who would say that a battle against The Crowl would not be one to finish proudly on?"

"I certainly look forward to this fight. Anyone who attempts to take land for the Starks should be crushed, especially by Lord Crowl here." Lars answers. "My hunts certainly could mean many things, Bandits Bane, including Bandits like so clearly enjoy to hunt as well."

"I am here to fight and to protect our Prince's lands. Hunting down defenseless prey interests me not." the Crowl states.

"The thrill of hunting another man is unrivaled. It is a most dangerous game, but worth every second. I've spent many years tracking down bandits, but there is only one I truly desire, and then I can lay down my sword. You know what I fight for, men, but what drives you? Loyalty to your prince, alone?"

"Loyalty to the Starks drives me, yes." Lars answers. "I owe all I am to them. If not for the Starks I would still be up in the mountains, possibly not even knowing of the conflicts."

As the force passes through the lands, they see from their mountain the castle of Runestone in the distance. A Stark flag still flies from the battlements, nad they see a small army surrounding the castle.
