"Four hundred in their castle," he said. "Can you deal with them?"

"Given the man and the time, yes I think I could. An assault would be costly as I do not know the area but it can be done." He responds.

"Siege will work. He has little enough hope for reinforcements," Corbray said. "Take two thousand men and see it done."

"Yes my lord. I'll see to it and leave as soon as the men are gathered and ready." Karyl replied, "Is their anything else you would have of me?"

Benjen gives Corbray a respectful not. "Lord Fillmore, how goes the campaign? The gate being open must mean Crowl got through to you."

"He did, with a thousand men or so. He broke the siege of Runestone whilst we took this gate back, but the battle was fierce. Lord Richard slew that big bandit hunter Ice and Lars Liddle before being driven off with heavy losses." He looks about. "Lord Crowl is retaking Redfort for us while we prepare to destroy Lord Richard's main host at Gulltown."

Benjen was stunned when he heard both Ice and his good friend Lars were dead. "Gods..." How many more would have to die for him?
"We will march straight to Gulltown then. How badly was Grafton injured? The bastard better not die of his wounds before I put him in chains."

"Hurt bad, but he's had some time to recover a bit," Corbray shrugs. "He's never been known as much of a swordsman. Maybe he just got lucky." He taps Lady Forlorn. "His luck will run out."

Benjen shakes his head. "The bastard will pay, I promise you that." He surveyed the gathered troops. "The wind and cold has been picking up these last few days. We'll have to get to Gulltown quickly before the mountain passes freeze over."
