"With pleasure, my lord. Who is going to go with me for this mission?" Karyl asks. "Jason has fought by my side before and we make a good team. But if you need him for another mission then by all means he is yours to command."

"No take whoever you need, and three thousand men," Fillmore says. "The rest of us will split the forces between the Gate and Gulltown."

"Very well. We will leave as soon as my men are decently rested from their trip, I'll give them the rest of today while I gather the rest of the troops I need and then we'll be off." The Crowl states, "Runestone and Gulltown are as good as ours once I get through with them."

Corbray laughs. "I have no doubt on that."

After the Slaughter of Runestone Karyl Crowl makes his way back to the royalist host the head of his small force of men. Slung over his shoulder are the skulls of his dead compatriots while their bodies ride in one of the supply carts.

The royalist host now sits at the entrance to the first of the gate castles leading to the Eyrie. Lord Corbray greets the Crowl. "Heard you all had a devil of a damned fight," he said. "Ours wasn't quite so bad. Lost a few hundred men but it was what had to be done to get this open."

"Grafton was able to take down both Ser Jason and Ser Lars before having to be carried off the field by his men. But I do not think he will be able to stand against us on the field for anytime soon. Unfortunately it took both of their lives to reach that goal." Crowl says with a little sorrow in his voice. "But Runestone and its men are ours now. What is our next move."

"Gulltown, I think," Fillmore says. "We have the momentum. We just need to await reinforcements and the war is over."

"When are reinforcements due to arrive though?" Crowl asks. "If it takes a couple months for reinforcements to arrive, it might be in our interest to keep going to smaller victories to lessen the morale of the enemy. If they are to rally while we are waiting it may prove disastrous."

"A fair point." He thinks. "We'll scout them out and see if we can start picking off fortresses. Leave the toughest nut for last."

"Very well, if we can get some of the houses to join our side when they see that Grafton has fallen, maybe we can pull this off without reinforcements." Crowl suggests to Corbray.

"Perhaps," he agrees. "First off, we have house Redfort to deal with."
