Aaron chuckled. "Sorcerers with dragons are usually not peers, but I will not debate semantics," he said. "Now, my prince, what brings you to my fine kingdom?"

"You received my raven." Killion replied, not wishing for a debate himself. "I had hoped we could find some common ground now that the dust has cleared. Me and mine did nothing to harm you and yours. If anything, our actions against Volantis only aided your cause...or what remained of it at the time."

Aaron nods. "I see. Your smashing of their mercenaries' supply lines was...appreciated, though we won't pretend it was for our benefit," he said with a chuckle. "I need free lanes of commerce to rebuild my city. What do you need?"

"That can be assured, with the proper tariffs paid of course." he replied after a moment of consideration. "I require relinquishment of your claim to the Stepstones and acknowledgment of our own claim for perpetuity, as well as aid when Volantis inevitably seeks reprisals."

"I'll renounce the Stepstones, as I have no fleet to enforce a claim," he said, "but if we are to be allies in war then my soldiers shall be the tariff for rebuilding."

"Half tariffs then." he countered, having no sizable qualms with the terms. "We must have some income if I am to convince my captains reaving is the less profitable venture."

"Half," he said, stating a rate which is reasonable to the prince's ears. "ive heard tell you have fortresses that sail, now," he said, sounding curious from a professional standpoint.

"Aye, it seems that even in your kingdom's crippled state, you still have ears that hear." Killion replied, tone more commending than mocking. "They are ugly leviathans, but they get the job done. Little more than floating trebuchets."

"Interesting," he mused. "Everyone is buildinng new weapons, it seems. Dragons and fortresses and magic. Tactics will be much different in the wars to come."

"That should only trouble those who do not adapt with the times." the Ironborn prince replied.

"Exactly," Aaron said. "Adaptation is essential to survival. Are you hungry? We have food cooking this moment."
