Oriax arrives at the Red Keep while the Lord Hand is holding court and waits patiently amongst lords and smallfolk alike for his audience.

King Derek holds court at Dragonstone. Lord Florent, Hand to the King and Lord of King's Landing, often attends people at the Red Keep.

Ami stood behind Oriax, a modestly amused expression on her face.

Oriax turned his gaze to his plump new apprentice. Westerosi faces were so expressive, in contrast to the grim contenance of most Ashaii.
"Something entertaining?" he asked.

"You," She replied with a smirk. "Sometimes it helps fitting in, you know."

"Where better than court to look the part of a foreign diplomat?" he asked, unconcerned. With his mask gone only his robes and eyes gave him away as foreign. "I am not one of you. I see little reason to hide it."

"Westerosi aren't exactly the most accepting of foreigners," Amelia said. "Especially not grim faced and humorless ones such as yourself," She added, sticking the tip of her tongue out. "Charm is key factor here. Which is why I came along."

"I represent the ruling council of Asshai, a valuable trading partner to this cesspool of a city." Oriax countered, a part of him wanting to tear her tongue out at the stem as it wagged at him. "I hardly need your...charms." he said with distaste, motioning to her cleavage. "The lands of the Seven might look down upon foreigners, but it seems as if the Kingslands have accepted the Eastern gods as their own. Perhaps you are the foreigner here, apprentice."

Amelia laughed lightheartedly. "An eastern god is not eastern men, but I am sure lord Florent will appreciate your dryness." She tilted her head. "I know you want to touch them."

If Oriax had still had discernible pupils, they would have widened at her bold claim.
"If you knew what I wanted right now, you would not attempt such games with me." he said darkly, wondering if she would bleed custard if he cut her.

"You tell yourself that," Ami said happily, trying to see when it was their turn to be seen. "Master," She added after a moment while she adjusted her earrings and dress.

"So why the interest in my craft?" he inquired, accepting the futility of his current attempts to dampen her joviality. "Surely there are more fitting pursuits for a woman of your birth?"

"I might have married a prince, once, had fate been a little kinder," She answered, quickly putting some more powder on her face while they waited. "And I have always enjoyed reading and studying, especially foreign cultures. And well, your sorceross folk can be quite convincing."

"Is that all?" he proved. "If that whim is your only reason, you would be better off left here."
"Studying Asshai culture and learning its art are entirely different beasts."
