Jason looked over to Oriax, frowning. "I have no love for you magicians, and you'd do best not to talk ill of Northmen in the capital of the North. Or, what remains of it. Cassadar was a madman and nothing would talk him out of his actions."

Oriax turned his black eyes from his companion to the man that had rudely interrupted their conversation.
"How soon we forget the debts we owe." he mused, a smile lacking any warmth on his face. "We're it not for this, magician as you call me, I have no doubt you would all be dead and this continent a smoking husk."
"I do not talk ill of the Northmen, merely comment on their nature. Embrace it as your friend here seems to." he motions to Crowl. "Westeros has yet to shirk its primal nature as the Ahsaii have. I do not expect more from you."

"Magic knows no ally, you meddle with powers not meant to be meddled with. Not something I should have to point out, standing in a city ruined by magic, in front of a man burned by magic, surrounded by the casualties of magic, because of a goddess of magic. Noticing a pattern yet?" He growled out the last bit, his hand tightening on the grip of his sword in it's sheathe.

"Two of them? There was another on the island?" She shivered. "And not a mark on you. You've got a long story to tell me, I think. Meraxes, the Valyrian goddess of magic?" She shook her head. "Let's go inside, Kalvin. It's cold out here." She looked around at all the destruction. Cold wasn't all it was.

Raven stared at the dark, black eyes of the figure, she felt no fear, but she knew he was touched by magic of some kind. Even his smiled said more than his words that he directed towards her countrymen.
She continued to stare as she stood beside Jason.

"Let's all settle now." Uhtred put a hand on the older mans shoulder "Whatever our motives, a great evil was stopped here. This man did as much as any of us and we should not blame him for what happened here. Don't be hasty."

"You speak with an ignorance common to your lands and people." Oriax said dismissively. "Your kind fear what they don't understand while mine embrace the uknown and are stronger for it."
"I can see you struggling with your primal nature now, gripping your blade with desire to strike me down. Your emotions are your weakness." he said, patronizing tone apparent. "I suppose being so hot blooded befits a man from such cold."

Crowl continues to stuff the various body parts of Cassadar in the sack, he then flings it over his shoulder and stands up watching the commotion, oblivious to what was happening.

He let out a grunt before releasing his sword. "I'm hardly ungrateful. I fully expected to die on that island, and I would have gladly. You say I speak with ignorance, and yet I know of magic and the ways it works. I'm not even a Northman, I come from far south of here, though I wouldn't expect you to know the difference. If you're done blowing your own trumpet now, you'd accept that you couldn't have done it without us, even if we couldn't have done it without you."

Uhtred sighed. He stepped back from Ice, looking at the two men, one still seething with barely controlled rage, the other perfectly controlled, a intentional mask of contempt on his face. Powerful, both in their respective worlds.

"Sheath your blade before more blood is spilled." Oriax said evenly. He had no desire to fight in his current state, but he would not be lectured by some upstart ape either. "The difference is I did not cross half a world for the mundane task of slaying the fool, whoever he truly was. I came for understanding and the pursuit of knowledge, something I would not expect you to comprehend. My mission would have better been served if I had torn you all apart at the seams and then perhaps could have mended whatever miscalculation Cassadar made in his ritual. Instead, I do not have the answers I seek and an entire city has been drowned, with no benefit for the sacrifice. You have done me a diservice and I saved your lives in return. Do not make me regret that decision."

"I'll play along with your stereotypes, then. 'I'll cut you open to see if you truly are as heartless as you sound!' There, happy?" He spit at the mans feet, crossing his arms. "You are no superior of mine. Fight me with a blade and I'll slice you to ribbons and feed the remains to a bird. If I fight you with magic, you'll likely use me for whatever experiments your mind devises. I'm no fool, and I have a respect for the powers of magic. But I have no love for it. You would be wise to do the same." Jason turned back to Crowl, shaking his head.

Crowl finally looks around and see's the argument going on, he walks past Jason and raises his arm and lightly slaps the man on the back of the head, not enough to hurt a lot but enough to get the mans attention, "Behave yourself. That is no way way to treat our guest after what he did during our fight. I will not have more blood shed this day." He says as he walks off.

Raven feeling the tensions make a huge rise, stepped back and away. She had just been rescued from the possible arms of the Stranger, she was not in a hurry to run to him again. This stranger, wizard or whatever he was, he was not important enough for her to draw her blade for, at least not yet.

He grumbles quietly. "Nor do I. Though I doubt our 'guest' here cares." He turns to Raven and offers his arm to her. "I'm rather hungry. Care for something to eat?"
