"No, just her. My younger brother has two, and my sister is wed to Lord Manderly's heir and has had four." He chews the delicious thank thoughtfully. "Soon, though, I hope."

"Ah I see. Well, perhaps you will be lucky," she answered with a small smile. "Have you just not found the right woman yet?"

"I rather thought I had." He offers her some of the strong-smelling yet sweet wine.

"Perhaps you have," she said, as she nods in acceptance of the wine. "But let's not be over hasty, shall we? I would hate to think we rushed it and made a terrible mistake. I'd much rather be sure. And I enjoy your attentions just as they were."

"That is music to my ears," he commented, "but I scarcely think this could be a mistake. you're the first person from the Iron Islands I've met who hasn't tried to kill me, after all." He said with a laugh.

"Am I? Truly. But surely you've met lots of women from other places who haven't tried to kill you, and you didn't marry them, did you?"
She smiled mischievously.

"That is a fine point. However...I find you curious. You are against everything I associate with the Iron Islands. And, if I may say...your backside is truly a work of some greater god," he notes solemnly.

She burst out laughing.
"Now that's not the kind of thing you say to a lady! But surely it's good that I'm different to my people?"

"Of course, else you'd have tried to kill me by now." He looks at her earnestly. "But it is true, nonetheless."

"Ah, well, I'm grateful you find me intriguing. All women wish to seem mysterious in the presence of men. And I think you are worth knowing."

He drains his wine glass. "So, what do we do, then, when this is over?"

"You haven't brought me my wolf pelt yet," she reminded him. "And you know my rule, and the reward you will gain if you succeed. I don't make light with my own body."

"It will not be easy to get it to you when I return north," he mentions gently. "We will only be here a few more days. You will get your pelt."

She smiled a little sadly at that.
"I wish you didn't have to go back North. I would like to know you better, but we won't have much time."

"No, not much." He puts an arm around her. "That is the danger of waiting too long, after all; for if not now, then who knows when the gods shall let us see each other again?"
