Ben Stark and Killion Greyjoy prepare for their duel, the courtyard surrounded by fighters, the Ironborn armed now as well as the others. Perhaps three hundred are fit into the ring, which is thirty paces across, Menion holding the Ironborn King's cloak. The King of the North is in his plate, holding a heavy shield, his brother Hector holds his shield prior to the fight, the brothers never looking more different, and both kings resemble in their last meeting the legendary warriors they are. The crowd sits in relative silence.

Rykker is there, hammer on his back matching the hammers of his crest. He stands uneasily in full armor, helmet under one arm. This would be a fight that would define the coming years.

Round 1:
Killion: 128 (-25) Benjen: 186 (-10)
The duel begins. The kings in many ways despise each other, but neither has ever made the mistake of underestimating the other's skill. They are silent until the first clash of steel. Killion strikes hard, dual swords clanging off shield and blade, and for long moments the echo of their blades is alone in the hall. Ben scores the first hit, his shield knocking aside Nightfall and his sword slamming into The Ironborn's left leg, but the crafty king's second blade gouges a deep hole in Stark's shield arm. Gasps come from the crowd, particularly from those unused to violence, but the Warriors watch with quiet concern on both sides.

Arthur Tyrell had stood in silence as the fight raged, clad in plate armor,, watching each stroke and marvelling at the clash of titans. As the Ironborn King fell, he imagined that not only was he seeing the death of a man, but the death of an empire.

Rykker leaves, riding hard for the crownlands. If it had stopped war, so much the better. But now a king lay dead at the hands of another, and there was no recompense that could settle such a thing.

Arthur looked around for Queen Joanna, unsure if she was present. It might be time to leave, but he would not do so without ensuring the safety of his liege lady.
