"You know him?" Killion asked brusquely, looking back towards the market district. "Perhaps the answer is heading this way."

The other source has vanished. It is possible it saw the investigation and is now covering its tracks. Amelia could do it almost without trying were she so inclined.

"I knew him, yes..." Amelia said, frowning. "Faeron Targaryen, a talented sorcerer. He taught me a fair bit." She looked down at her former mentor. "The other source has gone... it may have seen us."

"And is now loose in my city?" he asked, rhetorically. "Any idea what it is??

"I don't know what did this but wherever it is, it's far enough away to avoid detection," Amelia responded, before changing her mind. "No, it's probably hiding."

"And would blood help you find it?" he inquired. "I can hardly ignore something or someone running around killing in my city."

"I don't know, but it couldn't hurt," Amelia responded, aware of, but ignoring the humour of her statement. "I can try," she said, looking up at him.

He drew a dagger and ran it across his palm, staring down at the pale corpse as he did so.

Amelia closed her eyes and focused on the blood, drawing all the power she could out of it and reaching out to see if she could find any trace of that thing that had given off energy.

There are still two, they are just near each other now. Amelia feels most sensations like a candle. Collectively the signals are more like a burning house.

"Found them..." Amelia said, almost shying back at the power. "Still two of them and they're close to each other now." She rose. "If we go now we might catch them."

He passed on word to the men and they continued the hunt through the city, following the lead of their magical bloodhound.

Amelia lead them to wherever the source was.

Amelia leads them to a crowded city street, a red light district of sorts, flesh and steel and more for sale. She senses the beings' presences without trying, now, and as she looks into the busy square with the city market she sees them. A man and a woman, pale skinned, the man with long black hair and a slim build, the woman taller, maybe six feet, broader, muscles on her arms. They are sipping red wine together as they turn simultaneously to look at the sorceress. They smile, their unnaturally white teeth gleaming like pearls. "Hello, Amelia."

Having never fought a magic user himself, though he had heard no shortage of tales, Killion was not going to take any chances. As the weirdos seemed focused on Amelia, he ordered his guardsmen to clear the streets and set up a permimeter that closed off escape routes, with crossbowmen posted at any elevated position. He kept the King's Reapers close by.
