Crowl enters and the utter blackness of the cave envelops them. They hear the moaning sound and the clinkng grows louder. Aboud a hundred feet in the tunnel splits in two, one right and down and one left and up.

"Should we split up?" Robyn asked, eyeing up the left tunnel.

"Because that always ends well." Killion remarked, looking to Robyn. "Good to see you didn't explode, by the way."
"I'll take the low road, as always." he quipped, looking to the right tunnel. "Who's joining me?"

"Not enough of us to split," Kal said. "Best stick together." He looked about. "Low road works for me."

Harwyn shifts his grip on his axe, letting out a quiet grunt. "Agreed, no point splitting up if we don't know what's ahead."

"That makes two of us, exploding is not high on my list of things to do. Alright then" She looked at Killion and smiled, motioning to the low road, "ladies first"

"The honor of the vanguard? You flatter me, my lady." he replied, doing his best mocking impression of a greenland knight as he drew his obsidian blades from the sheaths on his back and descended into the depths.

Harwyn follows close behind Killion, obsidian axe in hand. "This can only go well."

They descend. After a hundred feet the air already grows a bit warmer. The echo of ice melting and dribbling to the ground is everywhere, and a draft of some sort of coming from ahead. There shouldn't be an exit, at least not so soon.

"Isn't it supposed to get colder near the others?" Killion whispered rhetorically, turning his head around to the rest of the group. Nonetheless he continued forward, taking some small comfort in the warmth even as his heart pounded in his chest. He had forgotten what his fingertips felt like.

Uhtred breaths deeply as he feels the warmth cloaking him again. Is the clinking sound and moaning softer or louder?

The warmth could be any number of things that could counter the cold of the others, lava, underground spring, it did not necessarily mean they were not there.
She walked up to be level with killion, in case they neared an opening and she had to sneak to check what was there, "it could be a rouse, presumably, they know they are cold, might want to lull us into a false sense of security."

"Any here that feels any more secure waltzing into the bowels of the earth is a special kind of stupid." he glanced to the Crowl pointedly.

"I don't think anyone here feels secure, Killion, nothing in the world right now is secure" Robyn said, looking at him, "If you're getting too scared, you're welcome to go back."

Kal frowned. "Nice to be warm at least. Crowd watch our backs. Best move on. If they know we are here going slow won't help and if they don't we might get surprise."
