"Damn this whole world to the darkest of hells," Titus growled. "There are few enough to remember that name now, yet I stumble right into one of those few my second day here," he looked down at his tattered boots, still shivering. "You've found me out, Prince Benjen. Now what's to be done?"

"If they aren't the best, they will just join his armies," she said. "We all will if we can't stop him."

"I am going to do my best! Gods!" she snapped. then sighed, "Sorry, it's been a... tough few days, I think... I may have to go out there... if whatever he is planning is soon... Oriax is not even that side of the wall... it must be someone else doing this too. Have you heard of... Elmangoreth? "

"Damn this whole world to the darkest of hells," Titus growled. "There are few enough to remember that name now, yet I stumble right into one of those few my second day here," he looked down at his tattered boots, still shivering. "You've found me out, Prince Benjen. Now what's to be done?" Benjen studied the man for a moment, before waving him on to follow him to where fewer guards were standing. "You weren't privy to your father's plans, I know that. Apart from you there's only one Grafton left and that one's a real piece of work."

Titus perked up, "and who is that? I'd heard my whole family was killed, our lands taken."

"Leonard," Benjen replied, his expression impassive. Wasn't easy killing someone's family - especially when they showed up again. "Your father was a traitor, Titus, and lead a rebellion against the King. I am sorry."

"I would have fought with him, were I not taken by the Wolf. I don't doubt it," he said, appearing more at ease than he had in a very long time. "I don't know his thoughts or reasons, but I would have fought and died on the other side, Benjen, though I harbor you no ill will. I suppose I'll never know his reasons and I suppose it doesn't much matter anyway."

"Money and lust for power," Benjen told him. "Stafford Lannister persuaded him to raise his banners against us on his behalf. But that is in the past now." He shook his head. "If you don't want anybody knowing you're alive then I won't say a word."

Titus stood silently for a long moment. "It's a hard thing to retake a name you've given up," he said finally. "Especially a hated name. You're an honorable man, Prince Benjen and I thank you for it. Do as you wish. I'm penniless and broken with an accursed name. All I seek now is death. Not revenge, not glory or honor or restoration. I've had everything and lost everything so really I care not, but I thank you nonetheless."

Benjen nodded, thinking on what Titus had said for a long moment. "Death isn't the best thing to be seeking. Surely there must be more out there for you. You're not your father, Titus and not your brother either."

"Surely not. They've all found their peace, as has my wife, my daughter, my crew, all my friends most certainly. I don't know if they've carved a spot for me wherever it is they've gone, but I do know there is nothing left for me here. I've been dead since the day the Wolf took me. I just need a Septon to make it official," his voice was flat as though he were talking of the weather.

Benjen nodded. "I am sorry that your life has taken such a turn. Perhaps... no, I won't bore you with what if's. You have food and arms here and perhaps, as you wish, a way to find death."

"There'll be more than enough of it to go around so enough. Are we to sit here and wait for it to find us, or shall we go out to meet it?"

"The Others can't cross the Wall, so right here we're safe," Benjen said, stamping a food on the Wall. "I won't fight them unless we have to. No point risking so many men. The real fight is happening down south."

"Pardon, Benjen, it's really not my place anymore, but what are you doing here, then? The man I used to know chased his threats wherever they ran. What purpose do we serve here if you're confident they can't cross the wall?"
