"I have already asked these questions, Lord Tyrell, and received a satisfactory answer. Else this man would not be here," Amelia stated, some steel slipping into her tone. "This is a magical matter, of which I am the authority between the two of us. So if you wouldn't I will discuss such things with Ilvar in peace."

Ilvar scowled. "The Others are blessed at birth, devoid of the baseness that shames man. Oriax personifies the depravity and wickedness that the Long Night is meant to purge. It is the difference between watching an old friend slain in battle and watching him suffer a wasting illness that never ebbs or flows. And to appeal to your more opportunistic nature, recall that the Others have not crossed the Wall. You should not concern yourself with their intentions..."

He gives an exasperated sigh, and shakes his head as he walks back to his tent.

"I assure you not all of our companions are this... brash," Amelia said to Ilvar as she watched Tyrell go.

Ilvar shrugged. "The Free Folk are not so different in their prejudices, and I admit we would be a short lived race if we all shared the same opinions as myself. And Southerners know so little of the Others. I have heard you used to teach your children they were as mythical as true justice and dragons."

"And two of those turned out to be real," Amelia stated, referring to the Others and dragons. "I had hoped that the man I work for would fly his dragon to our aid but he is a difficult man." She looked up up and down. "Your magics then - let me hear of them."

He stared at her for a long moment before responding. "We shall have words about this dragon business sometime. But I suppose as flying lizards do not factor in our grand business..."
He wiped the snow off a log before sitting. There was a sudden twitch, before his eyes went a curious grey and it seemed every bird left in the North felt the need to nest around and on him. After a moment, he returned to himself, inhalking a deep breath as his flock left him for their natural business.
"I can do beasts, but birds think as a flock, and the crows share my predilections, so they are never far. I haven't been surprised by danger since I was a wee lad..."

"Can you do people?" Amelia asked him curiously. "A helpful trait, not being able to fall for ambushes. I could have done with that ability over the past four years," She added with a chuckle.

He gives an exasperated sigh, and shakes his head as he walks back to his tent. Maekar is invited to a game of poker by the manly north an and the super odd sorceress chick that isn't Amelia. Dudley is invited too.

Dud receives his invitation and goes to play. He might as well be social with the people he may soon be dying next to.

Nick is dealing, to Riley and Kal's dismay. He grins. "Lord Dudley! What's your game of choice?"

Dud smiled as he sat down. "Five cards works for me, and Dud is fine. I'm not too big on that Lord title still." He smiles and nods to the other players as well.

Kal chuckles. "Fucking Dud," he said. "Good man." Dudley gets two eights, a three, a jack, and a king.

Maekar takes a seat too,"I've only ever played two card, it's the Reach's preferred gambling game." He had brought a wine skin with, the other one he had brought on the journey was tucked away in his pack,"Thought some wine would improve my chances."
