The Northern fleet, filled with Reachman, arrives at Eastwatch. A single rowboat comes into the docks, Maekar Delawaring it the whole way into port.

It will take that single rowboat roughly 400 roundtrips to disembark the army, so it seems more prudent to use the ships to unload, but the troops are greeed by a giant man. "Welcome to the fucking Wall!" he said. "I'm Lord Umber. Hope you like the cold!"

Maekar was in a large coat, unfortunately, it was still incredibly cold. He looked at the huge man, then at the wall behind him. "Does everything get bigger the farther north you go? Or are you, and it, anomalies."

"My wife asked the same thing! Came up from Duskendale!" he said. "Never understood how so many of you southrons come from things so small!" He laughed uproariously. "Come on, then, we'll get you settled."

Maekar smiled, and started to walk towards the keep. "Any news from beyond the wall, what Oriax is up to?"

"Yea the fuck went south alone," he said. "Burned Winterfell, and his fucking dead are hitting the reacers in their own homes." He shook his head. "It's a weird fucking war."

Maekar keeps walking, but he was staring off into space. "Why aren't we all going to Winterfell? Or farther south so we don't lose all of Westeros."

"Because it's a ploy," he said. "They want us coming after them in those huge emptiness, where we'll starve. The lord Stark knows those lands and he will hunt him with a picked force. We have the Others up here."

"If Winterfell can be destroyed, what makes you think that Lord Kalvin can hunt him down successfully." He said the last word with a finality to it, an image in his head of Oriax beating the North after a strung out chase."

"He raises the dead," lord Horace said. "So the more men we send against him, the stronger he gets. Better a hundred good men, archers and such, then ten thousand who can be raised."

"But if we sent an overwhelming force against him, instead of giving him little nibbles, wouldn't that be better?" He shrugged,"I'm here to help, and you don't answer to me. Just curious."

"He seems to gain power from killing. Means a dozen good swords are better than a thousand bad ones." He shrugged . "Or so we hear."

"Good point. Who is going with Kalvin on this..... expedition." He looked up at the giant man, not used to being shorter.

"Any good swords who volunteer, I'd guess. They're gathering at Castle Black."

Maekar smiled, excited to finally have a plan. "I'm going to take my personal guard, and leave the rest here to wait for the rest of our troops. Do you mind have an extra thousand men to help out?"
