His brow furrowed,"Anyone I need to know about at the wedding? People I should shake hands with it."

"Be nice to the westerners," Arania said. "and even those Stormlanders. Most of the really important ones died to Lord Dayne's revolt so I don't much know about the new world order over there." She thought. "The Hand to the King. I hate him. Be nice for now."

"The Westerners are always a treat", he rubbed his temples,"Bryce Dayne was a travesty, but we were all on the same side, so that should help."

"I think so," she said. "Or it own't hurt, anyway. Just be polite and we'll be fine. It isn't like we really have to like them, truly." Arania shrugged. "Politics and all." She handed him a paper. "I've had men estimating the costs of war. It has been apocalyptic for us."

He looked at it,"Next time, we should try not to fight everyone and half of our own kingdom. Highgarden should have it's first full harvest in a year and if we can fix up the shipping lanes, Oldtown could turn a profit."

"That is quite the if," Arania allowed, "but it is the goal. The Ironborn have one critical disadvantage now, and if necessary I will exploit it to the fullest."

"What would that be?" Before Maekar could add anything, Allard added,"That they're Ironborn." He'd clearly decided to leave Beric alone, much to his family's approval.

Arania regarded him. "They have always been wretched rapists and opportunists, carrion birds more than real predators, but now," she said, "now they have infrastructure. Now they have populations. Now they think they are..us," she laughed. "And that gives them the same weakness we have. A much smaller population, and ten times the area to defend."

Maekar smirked,"So what, burn their damn islands and when they show up..... what then?" He took a sip of wine,"They are incredibly mobile, so while we're in Oldtown, they're at Goldengrove, then we go there and they're at Highgarden. Rinse and repeat."

"They were mobile," Arania said, "And Goldengrove is Joanna's problem now. We don't smash anything. Pressure everywhere, death by a thousand cuts. Lord Stark's fleet can harass Tyrosh or the Stepstones, our shipyards will be producing galleons soon enough to poke the Arbor, the Lannisters can begin prodding the Islands themselves. The Federation of the Free Cities is stirring, forcing them to split more." She nods. "Tactically they are mobile. Strategically they are overstretched. And an outstretched arm can be snapped off."

"Who Goldengrove pays homage to, is not the point, and how do you plan to coordinate this whole thing." He looked around the table,"We barely have the Reach united, let alone multiple kingdoms."

"That's the singular beauty of those rapacious fools. They have become such a stench across the world we don't have to try rallying anyone at all." She shrugged. "The chaos alone will break them somewhere."

He sat silent for a moment,"I owe you my allegiance, my family and I go were you go."

Arania shrugged. "Patience is our ally for now. Fleets don't come overnight." She raised a glass. "To restoring the Reach to its deserved glory."

Maekar nodded, raising his glass and nodding for his siblings to follow,"To Lady Arania." He took a drink,"May the Reach's fortunes rise with her's."
