///
Eight days later they arrive in Yeen. Fifty men have died already. The city is massive, all black stone and emptiness, and even Prince Aenys is annoyed. "No wonder this isn't a more popular place to obtain godlike abilities..." he mutters. "When we land, we need to establish a quarantine."

Uhtred looks aside at the man for a second, then moves on with coordinating the small force. While the majority were the Prince's troops, his people still manned the ships. "We'll set it up on shore, give them enough to keep hope. Should we send out search parties first, or are you going straight in?"

"Straight in. This place is death to stand still at," he said. "You coming?"

Uhtred gestures and a squad of his sailors move up. They give him his helm, a masked visage of the Titan itself. He puts it under one arm and hefty his axe in the other "if you don't come back, I don't get paid. Seems simple enough. Goodbrother?"

Three hundred men set out to the dead city's center. The necropolis is massive in area, and eery in its utter lifelessness. Even the piercing howls of the monkeys of the jungle do not penetrate to the temple the force is heading toward.

The men are quiet as they pass the giant blocks of stone that make up the dead city, the walls seeming to absorb every sound as the force moves deeper in. Uhtred walks with the Prince in the center of the force, desperate to break the silence "What made this place? Do we know? These rocks seem too big to have been moved by anything alive... were they already here? Was it carved out of a mountain?"

"Old Gods," Aenys said, "We think. Keep your guard up..." as he speaks, Uhtred swears he sees shadows moving at the edge of the jungle. He blinks and maybe they're gone. Maybe it's swamp heat rising off the ground. Mosquitoes travel in ravenous swarms.

Wielding his axe and shield, Harwyn walked silently beside Uhtred, eyes focused on their surroundings.

The Captain has torches lit, supposedly for the smoke to drive away the annoying bugs. And if the fire makes the deeper shadows retreat... So be it.

At long last, the men make it to the temple in the center of town. No bugs fill the skies for thirty feet around it in any direction, some of them being seen simply dying in mid-air as they near it. Uhtred and Harwyn feel an odd sensation in their throats, like a lump they cannot swallow. Aenys stares at the giant black monolithic building. "Ready yourselves." Torches lit, the men begin to enter.
Incredibly, the building is near empty on the inside, almost hollow, and in the center is a hundred-yard wide circle made of obsidian and onyx, ebony and charcoal, blacker than night yet illuminated by some dim reddish glow.

Uhtred narrows his eyes and places his helm upon his head. The blank visage of the Titan of Braavos now stares out into the gloom. "What is it?"

"I'm...not sure," Aenys admits. "It looks like an old summoning circle, but those are only a few feet across." He looks to the massive thing. "And this looks like it could have been made yesterday."

"Permanent maybe." Uhtred shifts his axe from one hand to the other, then stops himself quickly. Can't appear nervous in front of the men "I'm guessing we shouldn't cross the line. Everyone away. Let the prince do what he came here to do."

Harwyn shifts a step to the side, but curiosity outweighs caution as he leans forwards a bit, peering into the darkness. "It's glowing, that mean it's been used?"

Aenys nervously steps into the circle, but he is stopped at its rim. "A shield," he says in wonderment. "there must be a place to operate this room. "find it!"
