Lady Uller considered the words for a moment, crossing her legs. "A lot of my levies are marching with Princess Nalya, Ser Borros. Some of the villages to the south lie empty and there are not many men to be spared."
She considered. "I can spare twenty of my personal men as well as the services of Ser Ryan and however many men he wishes to bring along."

"You have my gratitude and service." Borros replied, bowing his head low. "The populace is hard at work fortifying as best they can. If we take a defensive position, we should be able to weather all but the worst advances."

"Of course," Lady Uller responds, studying Borros for a long moment. "Best however to cut out the man's black heart. Someone needs to do it."

"I intend to." he replied, with steel conviction. "When will your men be ready to depart, my lady? I am eager to see to the protection of my charges."

"In a bell's time, Ser Borros," Lady Uller replied. A large smile appeared on her face as she looked Borros up and down. "Tell me, in the meantime Ser Borros, of your village."

"It would be an honor, my lady." he mirrored her smile. "It is a simple town full of hardworking people, a true diamond in the rough. Men make an honest living off the land around them, finding fish in the river and herbs in the desert. They are a fine representation of the Dornish, salt of the earth, and they hold fond your name."

"Do they now?" Lady Uller asked, feigning surprise. "I do not think you will find anyone within this castle praising my name. They're all scared of me." She smirked a little. "I wonder why."

"I could not begin to guess." Borros replied, tactfully. "Though perhaps it is a credit to your wisdom, as it is said fear rules far surer than love."

"Perhaps it is that," Isabel stated, one hand stroking the arm rest of her chair. "Or perhaps it is because some people whisper that I murdered my father. Isn't that so, Ser Ryan?"
Ryan Holt cleared his throat, staring at his feet. "Of course not, my lady."

Borros was thankful it had been Ser Ryan that was addressed and not himself, sitting in silence for what was the longest and most awkward moment of his entire life. He coughed into his fist, clearing his throat, not daring add his voice.

Lady Isabel's eyes returned to study Borros and he could now see that there was something darkly disturbing and... dangerous in them. "Very well, it seems my knight has lost his tongue. There are a few things I need to see to but my men stand ready."

Borros looked to Ser Ryan with a look of apprehension before his eyes returned to his liege.
"I thank you for your hospitality and aid, my lady." he said, with some trepidation at the bizarre turn the conversation had taken. "The people of Brimstone and I ware in your debt."

"Of course," Lady Isabel said as she rose. "Perhaps we will meet again, Ser Borros." She smiled sharply before striding from the hall. Ser Ryan remained, looking somewhat pained.

"I certainly hope so, my lady." he said, with a final bow.
"Shall we depart, Ser Ryan?" he asked, now in a hurry to depart Hellholt for more than one reason.

"Aye, the men will be ready soon," Ryan replied. "I will bring ten of my own men, the only I have to spare. They will have to do. I will meet you at the gates."
