The small village center of Brimstone, where people sometimes meet for a quick chat.

Freheri staggers out of his house in the early morning, moving over to his booth as he leans desperately on it for balance. To many crazy nights like that, and he would be considered the town drunk. But when you double the amount of drinks you usually have, that just creates trouble. Even if usually he only had one. He cursed his fathers father for his week tolerance, as was the morning tradition. Swiftly laying out the cloth overhang and setting out his wares, he props his feet up and quickly falls asleep. He expected no business today.

Perros the Potter stood at his booth outside of his shop, showing a woman and her little boy his wares for the day. He raised his hand toward Freheri, with whom he had shared a couple of drinks with the night before, though not nearly as large amount as the other merchant had. He saw that the man quickly prepared his sales for the day before Freheri took his usual seat and fell asleep. He shook his head slightly, wondering for a moment how the merchant had the coin for all of his drinks with that kind of manner and salesmanship. He returned his thoughts to his customers with a smile and showed them a small ceramic decanter he had made the other day.

Freheri half-naps contently, secure in the knowledge that his own mercantile endeavors were secure, and he didn't need to compare himself to any others. After all, none of this really mattered did it? He knew exactly who would come to buy what, at what time. In a bit would be the fisherman coming back from dawns catch for nets, near noon would be the woman for the spices, after that would maybe be the Old Herlon, stocking up on herbs or some such. And finally the fishers would return and he'd buy dinner from them, and everything would go well. No peddlers this week, so all was good.

The day had begun much earlier for Harmen than it had for Freheri, it was not even midday and his arms were already throbbing, his frows sweating and his heavy leather apron dirtier than a whore from King's Landing, maybe he was getting a bit old for this whole affair. His shop was the larger than any other structure in the square, it had a wide door that stood open the whole day, enabling the Smith to watch the movement across the square as he worked on his wares. Not stopping his hammering for a second he shook his head in disappointment as he saw the saddening image of the drunken Trader, struggling to even keep his footing... In his opinion, part of what made a true man was knowing how to drink without making a fool of yourself or becoming a slave to the cup.

Freheri woke briefly just as a woman walked up to his vendor, smiling brightly as he exchanged a small pinch of cinammon for a silver from Birgit, a fishermans wife, taking the small coin and depositing it safely in his pouch. A surprise then, though it shouldn't have been, it was her boys 8th nameday tomorrow, wasn't it? Probably wanted to surprise him with the unusual taste. That nap had been fantastic for his brief but gone hangover, so he endeavored to get the rest of the day done productively. He kicked his legs up and fell asleep once again.
He'll wave cheerily at Harmen before he does so, seeing the poor man already sweaty and disgusting even before noon! Man should learn to work smarter, not harder before his beard turned grey. Freheri was one of the older men in the village, but there was not a speck of silver in his hair. Smarter, never harder.

As Harmen is finalizing this beautiful iron helmet he had been working on a for a couple days he notices that his forge's fire is getting low, after a quick grumbling he goes to the storage to grab some coal... Only to notice he is out of supply.
"Shit..." The Smith cursed, he had already wasted too much time with that helmet so he couldn't wait for his usual provider... Unfortunately, he'd have to buy from the crook fellow merchant across the street.
"Feheri!" Harmen roared, leaning on his door's archway, the heavy dornish accent spilling from his lips like poison. "Can you get me some coal?"

Fraheri, with his eyes still closed, reaches down behind his chair and pulls a sack of coal out and sets it beside him, holding up 8 fingers for the price, knowing that right now, demand was to his advantage.

"Nay, that will not do." Eight silver for a bag of coal? Outrageous, he'd buy thrice as much for the same price from the source. "I can get you 3 and a doorbolt!"

The hand closes, waves back and forth a bit as he considered, then points at him for the doorbolt and then holds up 4 fingers. Ever the haggler. The man smiles for a second as he sits back easily.

Perros the Potter watched as the two familiar faces haggled over a sack of coal and smiled lightly. This wasn't the first time this scene had transpired during his time in the village, it was like it was the way things were in a small village. Every day the same like the one before. This was one of the things that Perros found to his liking, there were never any surprises waiting around the corner.
"Freheri, just give the man the coal. You'll going to need his services at one point or another so might as well use it for a future favor."

"Thank you, Perros." Harmen told the other merchant. "But this will have to do. Every dog has its day..."
"Rascal..."Harmen muttered looking back at the forge, the fire was practically all gone now, the helmet red glow growing ever duller; if the smith tried to haggle more he'd end up losing the product and even worse, he'd have wasted days of work. "Deal!"
He grabbed the doorbolt and the pieces of silver and hurried across the square to take the coal.

Freheri actually cracked open one eye, looked at Perros, cocked his eyebrow, then shrugged and gave a small thumbs up, with a caveat of 3 fingers. He'd agree to that. He moved the bag of coal in front of his vendor with one foot, then held out a hand to the big smith.

"Here..." Harmen gave the coins and the bolt, taking the sack back just in time to set the fire back and to continue his work on the helmet.

Farheri grins and mutters "Thank you for your business..." deposits the coins, and goes back to his nap.
