The morning of battle dawns bright and sunny, reflecting the light off the snowy fields. The rebel army has spread wide over the narrow valley, and Prince Benjen has massed his cavalry in reserve for any pursuit following the battle, as the vertical rise and the snow will make a charge an uncertain prospect. His battle hardened infantry have an advantage in morale, and when the sun has risen high enough to move the light from the attacker's eyes the battle begins.

Round 1:
Benjen (+20 for heavy infantry): 170 Richard (+12): 147
Prince Benjen's steady advance trudges stoicly through the hail of arrows unleashed on it. The charge at twenty five yards between the hosts is deafening. Hundreds die or are wounded in the opening minutes and the clang of steel rings through the clear cold air. Blood already soaks the ground as medics pull those wounded by arrows from the field. Ben's archers find positions to return fire and brutality is the word of the day.

Round 2:

The battle is a gruesome slog into death and despair. Men climb over each other, dying and killing and bleeding and cursing and praying all at once. The lines remain mstly static as the outcome of the battle hangs in doubt.

Richard: 147 Plague: 99 (dead) Mareth: 161 Mountain (-35): 142
Lord Corbray rampages along the line as he cuts his way to his traitor fellow lord Richard. A massive man with an axe bars his way, but Lady Forlorn cannot be denied as the man dodges the first cut and ends the fight in just a moment.

Round 3:
Benjen: 147 Richard: 113
Benjen: 145 Crowl: 166 Darius: 131 Dudley: 134 Raven: 84 (Evasion) Galbart: 140 Fillmore: 191 Gerold: 155 Robyn: 141
Richard: 104 Mareth: 189 Mountain (-35): 102
The hulking sellsword Mareth the Cruel nearly cleaves the northern bastard-daughter of Lord Umber in half, but she is quicker than almost anyone and she dives out of the way, although the might swing kills another soldier in her stead. The loyalists are steadily making grund, but fighting uphill in the cold and snow has made the battle particularly bloody, even by the standards of the time. Princess Robyn and her special troupe of archers find a ridgeline to fire from behind, and their volley of arrows take s atoll on the lightly armed mercenaries of the left flank of the enemy. Steam is rising from the field as sweat and arterial spray meet the cold air.
Random Event: 4 (Two lowest Rollers fight it out)
North: 15,000 Rebels: 9,300
