Delana looks at it. "It does not look promising," she agreed. "I guess you have something to use your servants for."

He considered that for a moment, but was unsure the demon would react favorably to the magic used to control the puppets.
"Nyles, gather your men. Time to earn your keep." he told the sellsword. "Find out if that thing bleeds."

Nyles stands and stretches lazily. "Green fog is easy. Men...blow really hard!"
The men fire crossbows. The fog reforms around the windy trails. Nyles frowns and then dips an arrow in the fire and launches it. The fog hisses a few seconds, and after the rest of the sellswords work, it retreats for the moment.

"A valiant effort." Oriax remarked dryly, tossing Nyles a gold dragon, actually feeling genuine relief that the spirit had departed or now.

"Next time perhaps I can fight a giant baked ham that learns to walk again," the ever sarcastic mercenary quips. "But I suggest we move. I have no desire to be eaten by a giant booger."

"Where do you recommend we go?" he inquired. "The ship does not leave until morning."

As the wind picks up, Nyles shrugs. "We're not sailing anywhere in this wind, wizard. The blizzards here wreck whole fleets."

Oriax sighed, drew his dagger, and stabbed the nearest ensorcelled recruit in the cut. Then he stabbed him again...then again....then again. He continued in this manner for a few minutes, until all that was left was a pulpy mess of sinew, organs, blood, and bone.
"Pack up the camp and lets move then." he instructed, before turning back to Delana, drops of blood heavy on his weirwood mask. "I truly despise this continent."

Delana nods in silent agreement. The snows prove too strong to walk through. Nyles says, "Fuck this. I'm getting laid." He begins the march back to town.

At least someone will be, he thought bitterly, cursing the foul weather. On the bright side, perhaps Harrys Snow would not survive his shipbound journey.
"It does not look like we will be going anywhere for the moment, councilor." he said, tone apologetic as if somehow the snow were his fault. "If an exchange of flesh does not interest you, perhaps an exchange of knowledge would in the meantime. "

Delana nods. "Indeed." They head into the town. When they get to a room, Delana sits on the bed and stares at Oriax. "Vhagus has spoken to you, has he not?"

"Would I be alone in that honor, councilor?" he inquired, evasively avoiding a direct answer as he sat in a cheap wooden char and flexed his scarred hands.

"Probably not," she says. "He is using his influence and knowledge, and access to raw materials to split the council. Some seek to side with his mad ambition." She looks at him. "The power is tempting. The irrationality is not."

"It sounds as if that will make an open seat sooner than expected." he remarked, ever ambitious. "Well it was not my aid or allegiance he sought, if that eases your mind at all."

She seems curious at that. "What, then? He offered me the power to travel backwards in time, as upstream in a current.""
