He sought out Nyles when he arrived, as well as a warm meal. The sellsword was still on his payroll, considering the ridiculous amount of dragons he had demanded over these months.

He sees Nyles, draining ale after ale. He has a giant scratch across his face. He turns. "Sorcerer."

"Sellsword." he replied in kind, with at least some familiarity, placing a small bag of gold coins on the counter as he sat beside him. "Do you still have the stomach for this work or do I need to find a man who does?"

"I fought that big bastard for you," he said. "I had no desire to follow it back to the castle. If you still have gold, I'll follow you to the Wall."

"And will again if it still lives, I am sure." he replied, standing. "Let us go then."

Nyles shrugs and rises. the pair set off for the gloomy lands beyonthe Wall. They can take the Kingsroad, try finding ship at Sea Dragon Point, or brave the mountain clans north of the Wolfswood

They took the Kingsroad, Oriax once more trading his mask and robes for attire more fitting of a traveler in the realm. He periodically sent his zombie bird out, maggots now wriggling in its belly, to scout for the Daesh or anything else of note.

The daesh is nowhere to be found as the pair march up the lonely road. After a few days they come across a caravan full of men of the Night's Watch. A black brother hails them. "Hail, travelers!" He looks to Oriax's strange garb. "I think the Citadel is a few thousand miles south of here."

"A scholar I may be, but I head in the right direction." Oriax replied, presenting the write from Prince Benjen. "We hunt Harrys Snow, who we believe heads Beyond the Wall."

The men shrug. "You are welcome to journey with us," the leader says. "Ser Kyle Merryweather, First Ranger of the Night's Watch." He extends a hand.

Oriax shakes it with his gloved hand. "We would be glad for the company."
"What is the First Ranger doing so far South of the Wall?" he inqured.

"Recruiting," he said. "Our best men are volunteers, and the most volunteers come from the North. With all the prisoners coming through White Harbor, many leap at the chance to avoid a slow death in a dungeon to a life spent fighting wildlings and sharing in fellowship." He shrugs. "I am sure the choice is odd to a sorcerer, but the devotion to a cause is much the same, I'd think."

"On the contrary, Ser Kyle, I understand your cause better than most." he explained as they journeyed North. "Kings and their wars over imaginary borders are pointless, but your task is one of import. After all, who understand better than a sorcerer that there are things mortals should fear in the night?"

"It is funny you say that," he says. "The Queen beyond the Wall has sent messengers insisting the Others are stirring."

"I have felt the same." Oriax revealed. "It is this power we think the fugitive seeks and it would be catastrophic were he successful."
