The Hare and Tortoise is a quite a ordinary inn, with a large common room and a bedhall in the back. On the second floor, there are a few rooms to hire for those that can afford it. The inn is situated close to the northern parts of King's Landing.

Lord Ambrose Estermont and his family, along with a couple of servants and guards enter the inn and asks the innkeeper to rent the second floor for the remainder of the tourney.

Cayn is seated in the Hare and the Tortoise, tucking into a large portion of roast boar and tankard of ale. He needed a break from the fare at the Rotted Goat.

The retinue of House Estermont moved upstairs, after the right amount of coin had been provided, and a few moments later a young man came down the stairs.
He walked over to the innkeeper and asked for a cup of wine, before finding himself a seat at one of the empty tables.

Cayn eyed the lord as he gulped down his ale. He used his dagger to pick some boar from between his tooth, then leaned back and began whistling a tune to himself.

The young man sipped on his wine and looked at the people that sat in the common room as well. His eyes seemed to stay with Cayn for a while, as he seemed to listen to Cayn's tune.
"That is Milady's Supper you are whistling on, is it not?" the young lad said after a while, loud enough so that Cayn would hear him over the murmurs of the common room.

"Aye, my young lordling, you have a good ear, even when I struggle to keep a note," Cayn responded, winking.

The young man looked around, as he was checking so that no-one was watching, before he rose and walked over to the table where Cayn was seated, bringing his cup of wine with him.
"I've been trained in the art of music since I was a young boy, though my mother wouldn't even consider that I would even know such a tune. She has trained me in the songs about love, since those are the one's that will give turn the girls' head, saying that bawdy songs such as that is for the common born."

Cayn grinned, then began singing quietly:
"So then milady dropped her head down from the bed, and grasped that great big pole. With nary a pause she opened her gob and swallowed her supper whole!"
"What could your mother possibly take offence to?" he laughed.

The young man returned the laugh, before taking a sip of wine.
"Yes, whatever could she take offence to? So whom do I have the pleasure to share a table with. I am Ser Lucantine of House Estermont, we've come to attend the tourney that is being held here soon, and luckily my father wanted to get here early."

"My name is Cayn, and the city is my home. Though I plan to fight in the melee also," he said, returning to his boar.
"Any news from Greenstone, Ser?"

Uhtred walks into the tavern, hungry for a decent meal. It had been a long time since he had anything but ship-rations, and he wanted something filling, and fresh. You couldn't get anywhere near the docks. He sat down at the table and gestured for a serving women.

"A local, looks like I'm in luck. I was hoping that I'd meet someone to show me King's Landing" he said with a voice that sounded as naive as he seemed. "They allow common born to participate in the melee as well, that sounds interesting."

Cayn glanced at the man who walked in, who had the look of an Ironborn to him. Ironborn rarely made it to a tavern this far from the docks.
He turned back to the knight. "I don't think they give much thought to who enters the melee, not like the joust, they're happy to have extra fodder to make the knights look good."

Ser Luc glanced over to where the Cayn's eyes studied Uhtred, his face changing from a smiling one to one with a small frown between his eyes, wondering what an Ironman was doing in a inn in these parts of King's Landing, probably looking for trouble as most Ironmen did.
"You are probably right, the melee isn't about honor like the joust, so it would only be fair to let men with less honor enter the event as well." he said and took a sip of wine ".. company excluded of course" he quickly added as he had swallowed the tasty red wine.
