Jaymes notice the prince leaving and held up a hand. "Actually, it would be best if you stayed for a moment as well, Prince Benjen," he said gravely, refusing the wine. He had dark circles under his eyes, and looked as if he hadn't had a change of clothes for a day. "My sister was assaulted last night."

Terrence stood, "Assaulted? By who?" He motioned to his bodyguard. "Secure the entrances and double the guards leading to the Laninsters' quarters. "Do you need anything, Lord Jaymes?"

"Thank you, but I've already doubled the guard," said Jaymes to the king. "Neither of us have any idea as to who it might have been, or whether it was an attempt on her life or something else," he said, frowning, and looked to the prince. "Your wedding, at least, must be postponed for a week or two, I'm afraid. Joanna was severely injured." He dropped a small piece of parchment on the table and clenched his fists. "The assailant fled, but dropped this. How I wish I got my hands on this son of a bitch."
It looked to be a map of the Riverlands, a small holdfast on it marked with an X.

Benjen looked at the map, noticing its similarity to the one Amelia had showed him. "How badly is Joanna wounded?" He asked, concerned and angry. "If possible I would wish to speak with her." He clenched his fist and looked up at King Terrence.
"Father, I will insist on going to deal with this matter myself."

"She has a deep wound in her leg; the maester said it barely missed the artery. You can of course visit her," said Jaymes, picking up from the prince's reaction that something was indeed going on. "This matter? You mean to go to this.. place?" he asked, motioning at the map.

"I do, Lord Jaymes," Benjen responded with a firm nod. "This is a personal matter now and I intend to bring justice to whoever attacked your sister."

"Well if you believe that leads to them, I obviously want to come with," he said.

Benjen nodded. "I will be glad to have you along, Lord Jaymes. If there is nothing else I will visit Joanna and then prepare to leave."

"Well, there is also the matter of what to tell other people? About the delay, and all. Our maester recommended saying she has caught a fever, but I'm fairly sure some people at least know she was injured.. And word travels fast," he said.

Benjen nodded, turning to King Terrence. "Father, any ideas?" He wanted to hear everyone else's opinion first.

"The two of you can handle it. I shall personally ensure Joanna's safety. I will not lso another daughter."

Since the king seemed to have little to add, Jaymes turned to Benjen. "What do you think on the matter, then?" he asked.

"We don't have to disclose much," Benjen suggested. "We let the highest lords and King Brynden know where we are off to. As for your sister... I leave that to you."
