"I have cause." replied Rycherd.
"I have cause when the Faith's seat in Summerhall comes under perceived or actual threat. And as to whether I decide if this be my war or not, will be up to the actions of yourself. The Reach shall defend Summerhall from the Red God's hordes."

"As though your transparent aggression can be veiled by any excuses. If we wanted to destroy Summerhall, we could have done so weeks ago," he chuckled.

"Then why didn't you?" retorted Rycherd. "It would have been the perfect retaliatory response for Blackhaven would it not? The Red Priests would have been overjoyed at such a blow been struck against the Seven."

"It wasn't my order," Footly shrugged. "His Grace King Derek Baratheon said that Summerhall was not to be disturbed."

It was Rycherd's turn to shrug his shoulders.
"Possibly because your King Derek knew that the Reach and possibly the wider Goldlands would become involved if Kingslanders attacked Summerhall. Nevertheless in the future, Summerhall will be re-inforced on a permanent basis by Reach troops. We shall not allow the Red God's minions to encroach on either our lands or our faith."

"I am sure that is a good way to ensure that the Faith preaches in the Reach's favor," he chuckled. "It is too bad the tourney is closed to heathens such as myself."

"Then repent and return to the faith of your forefathers." said Rycherd. "Thirty-five years ago Tumbleton was part of the Reach. Let it return to its rightful place."

"Our status is much higher under House Baratheon than it would ever be under you, my lord," Footly notes. "And forty-five years is a longer time than you'd think."

"How is it higher?" demanded Rycherd. "What can they offer you that I or King Kyle cannot? Tumbleton is occupied only because the Baratheons took advantage of the momentary weakness of my grandfather and treacherously invaded the Reach."

Footly turned his horse around and laughed. "Now look who wishes to speak about treacherous invasions. Enjoy wasting your gold defending the Faith, Lord Rycherd. They are hardly worth the trouble."

"This is the border and my host remains outside the Kingsland." replied Rycherd simply. "There is no treachery from us."
He held up a hand. "You may consider Summerhall part of the Reach from this point on. I declare it formally under our protection. Tell your King and your Red God priests that."

"Then the next time they invade us, we can assume you ordered it." He nods. "We understand perfectly." He and his men turn to ride off.

"So be it." was the short terse reply.
Rycherd wheeled his horse around and returned to his own men.
Leaving a smaller party of 500 mounted troops to patrol the border to ensure no encroachments by Footly and his men, he gave orders for the remainder of his host to begin the march back to Summerhall. Still weondering whether Footly's other reported troops were and fearing possible attack the men were ordered to remain in formation.
He also issued orders that the 500 men remaining at the border that they were to send regular reports to Summerhall of their whereabouts and progress as well as any sightings of potentially hostile troops.

Dice was putting bolts into a quiver and counted her stock of knives. If there was a storm coming she wanted to be ready. She had been given a few weeks rest and she expected a new mission. The last one was easy, it just took her a few days to track and kill a suspected sorcerer, an enemy of the Faith. The frequency of these sorts of missions had been increasing and it felt good to be busy.
She stroked her 'Big Dick'...
A crossbow that could punch through the best protection. Many men had been on the receiving end of it but they didn't enjoy it much.
