Character's Personal History
He was born in the year 347, in the midst of the greatest storm in living memory. The storm would wreck his familys keep, kill his father on his ship, and be remembered as the wrath of the Storm God who hated all ironborn. But it was Uhtred, and Uhtred alone that would kill his mother. His eldest brother Ygon now Lord Farwynd would never forgive him that; no great love grew between the eldest and youngest. As the boy grew it became apparent that Lonely Light was aptly named for him, for lonely was his lot, but light the burden at the time. He was carefree; a boy still who would imagine enemies to face him and maidens to save. He lived as if in a dream, raiding the cities of the greatest empires, stealing the daughters of the highest kings. He explored the rookeries and would play with the seals that plagued the island, and he learned to imitate the seagulls of the sea. A dream as he now remembers it, a dream of light and foolishness. Dreams do not last. When he was eleven years old, his eldest brother would secure his spot with a captain who he had never heard of before to raid the coasts and earn his place. As he boarded the longboat, he looked back at Lonely Light, and could not wait to leave this place and see the world he had made so bright in his many adventures. It would be 6 years before he saw his home again.
That ship would go farther than Uhtred had ever dreamed, or wanted. In this time he grew in mind and stature, and became great friends with those on the crew who would deign to notice him. He learned dice, ships, and reaving from these men, and he still considers them the greatest group he had ever been with. It was during this time that he killed his first man, dagger through lungs, and lost his first friends. Raiding was seldom kinder to those who lived its lifestyle than those who suffered from it.
Eventually, after 6 long years, he returned a man to the Lonely Island, but received no welcome or help there. His brother had taken a rock wife, and had a heir to the Lordship. Uhtred had nothing now to hold him back now from the life he had always known. He returned to it gladly, and would swiftly rise to become captain of his own ship. Yet the Storm God was not done with Uhtred yet. It would be in his 21st year, when King Euric would battle the Braavosi that his world was shattered once again. Caught by a storm, his ship was thrown away from the fleet and found itself amidst purple warships. He crashed his ship into an enemy galley, laughing as he leaped up to their deck. Steel clad in lobstered plate, the black ship upon his back, Uhtred swung his axe expecting to die a warriors death. Their tiny blades could do nothing but prick him, and he thought the battle would last forever. However, the pricks drew blood, and though Uhtred managed to cut down five, seven, ten of them, he weakened and collapsed beneath the weight of his own armor. They did not kill him but brought him back to Braavos.
Weak from blood loss and stricken with a terrible fever Uhtreds mind would not rise again until some time after, when he awoke fully for the first time and beheld the mighty Titan of Braavos from his cell in the Arsenal. Chained like an animal and bewildered by the strange language all around him, Uhtred was a man whose world had been destroyed. It was after a year of this when the visits would begin. A braavosi would visit and speak of the sea to him in heavily accented westerosi. Uhtred spoke freely. They talked of ships large and small, of battles of old and new. And when the braavosi offered him a ship, and chance to fight once again Uhtred could not refuse. His chains were taken away, new armor found to replace them. His axe was returned and his services sworn to his strange captor, the Sealord Arsenius Faol. For over ten years he has served as a captain of the Braavosi fleet. His garb was grey as befits his rank and he commanded 20 ships that would follow him to death. He would wander the streets of Braavos at night, and the bravos that challenged him died. He had learned to cut even the water with his axe. After years of service he has requested to return to his lands, and he has been released from his service to the Sealord. Now Uhtred ventures back to Westeros with gold and presents from his enemy now friend, and any man who would still follow him. 10 ships still do. They have named themselves the Iron Titans, ironborn and braavos united.
In the last year the Titans have been under contract in the North, operating out of Coldwater Burns as the Kingslanders naval offensive has been the perfect opportunity for the Titans to grow in size. Uhtred enjoys serving against the legendary Manderly, as he's been forced to learn hard and fast against the Winds of Winter. He draws heavily upon the his time spent with Faol in these times, and the Manderly has enacted a hard fought but futile campaign with his outnumbered forces, but has now been forced back to White Harbor itself. The assault upon the city was a battle that Uhtred nearly lost everything in, and while the kingslanders and Titans were pushed back by the northern defence. Uhtred's gold chest has been growing steadily out of Graftons pocket, and he's now looking for other waters, as blockading is not his cup of grog.
Character's Physical Description and Reputation
Standing 6' 3" in height with large hands and black hair, he is strong and broad. He has a scarred face, a nose which has been broken too many times, and blue-green eyes that seem to shift colors when you stare too long into them.
Known in Braavos as an Iron Captain, now known as alive and active in the Iron Islands. Those who take an interest in the Sealord of Braavos will surely have heard of Uhtred, his unusual servant. He has made some small name for himself in the North as well now, after serving with the kingslanders, and now has made impact in the Free Cities, leading the coalitions that defeated and killed Lord Entel the Defiant.
He joined up with the Ironborn when the call came around the world, but his fleet was destroyed by Killion Greyjoy as the Prince did not deem his service acceptable to his standards. He disapeared from the world at large for a year and a half.
