"Will you be joining us, I wonder? I see you are good with your harp, but if you held against Lord Tarly on your own, you must also be an adept swordsman, at the very least," said Jaymes. "House Fossoway needs a new leader, after all, after the traitors have been dealt with." He gave him half a smile.

I'm honored, my lord," Jared said. "I'm sure we'll be heading south come spring, once those under my protection have been settled somewhere safe." He looks about. "My brothers probably deserve to get what's coming to them. But...they are still family, you know." He chuckles. "Don't you have one of those relatives?"

"It was just an offer," said Jaymes, smiling now. "King Brynden is obviously not going to behead every traitor in the Reach unless he wants it completely depopulated. A lot will be pardoned, surely, or sent to the Wall. They always need more men."

"So you DO have one of those relatives," he says. "But if never see Morrys Tarly again it is to soon, I think. He is for someone far more formidable than me to confront. Maybe Hollis Clegane." He chuckles. "I'd rather die than be sent to the Wall. It's too damned cold here." He stretches his hands out to relieve music-playing cramps. "So you are new to the throne of the West. I wonder, how does it feel to rule so much?"

Jaymes raised an eyebrow, but seemed amused. "I am not the king," he said. "Merely the Lord of Lannisport."

"But you have a throne, do you not? And tens of thousands of men? And probably hundreds of women, too?" he adds, with a 'wink' made a bit creepy with his one eye." He waves to the crowd. "They all wish to have your life, m'lord."

Jaymes gave a short chuckle. "If this is what people believe, I can see why so many of them crave more power. Don't believe everything you hear though, master Fossoway. Matters of state can be.. messy," he said, looking round them and noticing a few noble ladies in short distance. "If it is the women you're interested in, I am sure your harp will have a better chance of drawing them in than me being here. I shall leave you to it. Until next time." With that, he moved on.

Jaymes sees Lord Corbray talking to some knights, northern lords aplenty, Lord Tully himself, old but still hale, and over in the corner, looking half asleep, the famed and infamous Kalvin Stark.

Robyn had spotted Lord Corbray from across the Great Hall and stood staring at him as she walked towards where there would be food. Distracted by him and not looking where she was going, she walked into Jared.
"Sorry" she muttered, and then seemed to realise who she had bumped into.
"Oh, Jared, wasn't it? I never properly thanked you for helping me the other day." Corbray temporarily forgotten.

The one eyed man smiles easily. "Ah, you have a knack for names. Fossoway," he completes the name. "I never liked the Daynes anyway. Helping a pretty lady was a bonus."

Was that really the first thing any men were going to comment on about her first? Her looks? She smiled anyway.
"Perhaps it would have been better if you just let him hit me, but thank you all the same, it was very good of you." She looked round, looking for conversation topics, "the fossoways are a reach family are they not?"

Yes, yes it is. "We are, my lady," he said. "We are exiles, now. Driven from our homes for staying loyal to King Brynden." He narrows his eye. "What was that fight about, anyway?"

"They were insulting members of my family... Turns out they were the envoys from dorne," Robyn shrugged and shook her head, "and then some words were said and you bravely stepped in to help. One of them lost their hand"

"I can well guess which one." Jared sighs. "Another enemy to add to my list. Bryce Dayne was not my first name on desired enemies. And no one strikes a woman in my sight. Even if she can take care of herself."

"We spoke to the... Actual envoy after, he did not seem overly concerned, how true that is is debatable, but if bryce dayne makes anyone an enemy dye to this, I think of all involved you are probably fairly far down the list." She smiled up at him, "as Benjen says, things might get better one day,"
