Benjen, Catherine, Amelia, Danya, Walton and two other guardsmen made their way down the country road to where the carriage had stopped, trying to determine from there where it logically would have gone to.

The road continues on for another mile or so after the broken carriage. They pass the hanged bodies of the criminals and see it opens into a clearing perhaps two square miles in size. There are three small farmsteads and some sort of grain silo in sight.

"Hmmmm," Benjen mutters, taking in the sight. "What do you think, Catherin?" He asked, while Danya cocked her crossbow, suspicion written on her face. "Not what I had expected."

"It looks like a pastoral scene to me." The road continues on through the clearing. "Maybe we should check the houses? We can't go too much farther without having to stay the night out here..."

Benjen nods and waves the group on, riding to the first of the houses. He dismounts and walks up to the door, knocking on it.

"Come on in," a voice answers. "Dinner is cooking."

Benjen gave a curious glance to Catherine. Danya leveled her crossbow as the Prince opened the door to look inside.

He smells some form of stew cooking, and an elderly woman stirring a pot. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

"Do excuse us," Benjen said, stepping into the house. "I am Prince Benjen Stark, this is my betrothed Catherine Mallister and my friends Amelia Royce and Elena," Was that the name Danya wanted to be called? Probably...

"Well aren't you two just the cutest couple!" The old woman exclaims. "Would you all like some stew? The last time I had a prince in my house King Robb still held Mason Keep. That's been a long ten years." Catherine looks to Benjen and mouths "ten?"

"Ah, yes, well," Benjen said, smiling, "I myself am not hungry but my companions may wish to eat. We came here to investigate the recent... events."

"Events? Like the fine gentlemen who came by the other day? They said they were bringing some lovely ladies so I should make my stew...but they never showed up again. Except Cass, of course. He always shows up when I need him." She smiles guilelessly and starts ladelling stew into bowls.

"Cass..." Benjen said, mouth wide open. Amelia's head shot up and Danya's grip on her crossbow tightened. "Some ladies were coming? That's nice," Benjen managed to say. "This Cass, is he a friend of yours?"

"Oh, yes! He always comes by with friends of his. He said two very special ladies were on their way a few nights ago; I am sad they didn't come. I made stew for them. He said one was hurt and needed to be cared for, and one was going to be a sweet Dornish girl to keep an old lady company for a while."
