"Time will tell," Benjen said, rising from his seat and making his way over to the bed. "If you will excuse me, Lady Arania, but I fear I will need to sleep some more."

"Very well then," she said, rising. "Please let me know when Amelia has woken. I would like to see her." She moved toward the door, resting her hand on the knob. She turned back to him before leaving. "Sleep well."

Benjen Stark made his way to Catherine Mallister's chambers and knocked on the door.

He hears harp music playing, and a sort of humming. After a second knock, the music stops and Catherine's voice calls out. "It's open."

Benjen opened the door and walked in, straight towards her, stopping beside the girl. "You still play the harp I see; and beautifully."

Catherine looks up at him with surprise. She clearly wasn't expecting him, because she is dressed in a nightgown covered by a very thick wool robe with slippers. "I...I thought you were my mother, or Ami," she says with a startled voice, cheeks flushed in the autumn cold. Her hair is flared a bit wildly about her head. "How-how are you?"

"As well as can be, Catherine," Benjen said, still shocked at how beautiful the girl was. "How are you coping? I am sorry if I seemed a little... off the other day."

"You still do, in truth," she laughed. She hops up. "I will be all right, I guess; I didn't have it nearly as bad as the rest of you; all I had to do was kill a few scummy outlaws and rescue the fair maidens." She strikes a faux-heroic pose using her harp as a rapier.

Benjen almost stared at the displayed beauty in front of him, taking a deep breath. "You strike a dangerous pose, I have to say that," He said, winking. "But... I came here to, well..." He blinked, looked her in the eyes. "How would you like to be the future Queen of the North? My... queen."

Catherine was about to say something else, when at his words her mouth opens, then closes, then starts to open again. "Prince Benjen? Is this some...sort of dare?" Her lower lip trembles, and her harp falls to the floor.

"I mean it," Benjen replied, looking deep into her eyes. "I want you to marry me and to be my Queen and rule the North with me once my father is gone."

"But...but there's so many more...um, well, I mean...you have our swords anyway...like...um..." She stammered. Her hands were shaking and her mouth seemed stuck in its half open position.

"I have brothers and sisters, who can wed to forge new alliances," Benjen said, moving close to Catherina and putting his arms around her. "I want a wife who I can... learn to love; a woman who I know is intelligent and beautiful and kind. And strong."

As he touches her she suddenly seems to accept the fact he is being truly serious, and she seems to regain some confidence as she beams. "And can use a crossbow, that must have been the tiebreaker." She shrugs a bit and slips her robe off, then withdraws from his grasp and pads over to quietly turn the lock on her door.

Benjen grins as his eyes follow Catherine over to the door. He undoes his sword belt, setting the weapon lightly down atop a desk before walking over to where she stood.
