"Would you have been so eager to open your mouth if I had, my lady?" Her mouth feels absolutely horrible, but it might be cleaner. Maybe. Kal rolls his sleeve up, and Walther stitches it up, Kal using a leather belt to avoid biting his tongue off.

She cringed at the lingering foul taste. "Perhaps not, but it had to be done, I know that." She watched the maester tend to Kal's wounds. His stitches were finer than hers had ever been, though she was sure it was far more important when stitching skin and not cloth. "Were you really not going to have that seen to?" she asked him, perhaps a bit scoldingly.

He looks at her. "Men don't get their wounds treated. I am only here so you didn't feel lonely." Based on the depth of the wound in his arm, that is probably not a true statement. After the arm is stitched, the far more worrying wound on the top of his back is looked at. It is stitched also after being cleansed by whiskey.
When it's finally over, he looks a bit sheepishly at Arania. "That hurts worse than actually getting cut in a fight."

"Men who don't want their arms amputated do," Arania said, giving him a pointed glance. She realized the seriousness of the wounds, partly from the gruesome look and partly from the way the maester tutted over them so.
She grinned at him. "I'm sure it will feel much better in the long run. Now, where to from here? I need something to get this taste out of my mouth."

Kal laughed even though it must have hurt his stitches. "The Seven kingdoms?"

"Please no." She shot him a withering look. "I never intend to set foot in that place ever again. It never ends well."

"Fine, then. My tent. If anyone tries to take you from there I can just cut their head off," he says confidently.

"Your tent?" She raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say it was out in the middle of nowhere, or something?" She had no doubts in his ability to cut off heads if necessary.

"I shall correct myself. My real tent, not the one I've been staying in. I prefer being away from people when possible, but that would be the height of stupidity in light of recent events. so, I shall use the pavilion my dear lord grandfather gave to me, to house everyone from Winterfell who came." He bows regally.

That sounded much more respectable, not that there was much left of Arania's reputation for her to worry about at this point. "That sounds much more appealing. Though I wonder, why do you prefer staying away from people?"

He grins. "Solitude comes naturally to Starks. It's how we stand living in our isolated fortresses. Besides, you see what happens when I meet people from other lands...they end up wanting to start a war." he offers a hand.

"It must. I've always lived in the center of people, thousands of people. Odd I've never come so close to starting a war before." She took his hand with a smile. "You northerners are a bad influence."

"It's how we maintain that healthy respect the rest of Westeros has for us; fight first, make apologies later. I suspect I was raised by wild animals from birth, like I've heard the smallfolk say in their little cabins. It adds a little mystique to the whole thing." His tent is larger even than the Hightowers', with clearly divided rooms and everything.

"Is that really what they say of you?" She laughed at the thought. Looking around the tent, she was impressed. "It seems the north travels in style. And who uses this place while you are off in no man's land?"
