Just as he was about to walk out the door, a guard in Lannister colours opened it and Joanna entered the establishment, all but walking into the leaving man. She was dressed in a fine crimson dress, an expensive-looking soft white cloak around her shoulders, clasped together with a golden lion brooch. Her blonde hair was up in an elegant bun.
She raised an eyebrow, as if it had been the man's fault. "Excuse you," she said, adjusting her cloak, even though it was hardly necessary. She opened her mouth to say something offensive, but reconsidered and closed it.

"Your pardon," Titus muttered, his eyes on the ground. When he raised his eyes, they met those of one of the lovely women he'd ever seen. 'Much prettier than that bitch of a Tully,' he thought as he attempted to think of something incredibly captivating to say. He quickly settled on, "the ale here tastes like piss."

The Lannister girl blinked at this piece of information and narrowed her eyes, ignoring the fact that she was probably blocking the entrance. Her eyes darted over his shoulder for a brief moment, studying the interior. This place had been recommended to her as the finest establishment in the Westeros.
"You would know?" she asked him, crossing her arms.

"Um, yes in fact I would. Strange tradition, I know, but a right of passage is a right of passage," he shrugged. "I suppose there are worse things and maybe you'd even fancy it, who am I to say? Oh, that's right, I'm Titus Grafton, and I've seen more of the world than anyone in this damnable place."

Joanna's lips curved into a condescending smirk, but she let him finish. "I do not drink ale," she replied, looking the man up and down. He was full of himself and handsome, which was the main reason she hadn't walked away yet. "I am Joanna Lannister," she said, "and I don't take boasting lightly. Prove it."

"You want me to drink piss?" he asked, bursting into laughter. 'This girl might be well bred, but she has the heart of a true wharf whore,' he couldn't help but think.

"What?" she asked incredulously, narrowing her eyes at him in disgust. "You were talking about seeing the world, you oaf," she said before turning and walking away from him, inadvertently pushing him with her shoulder.
"A summerwine," she told the man behind the counter.

Prince Benjen decided to visit the place for one drink before leaving for Eddard's Rest again. He ordered an ale and found himself a seat.

"Odd girl," he said quietly as he pushed open the door. "Didn't try the summer wine," he called over his shoulder as he left, "I'm sure it's delightful" he said with a flourish, a bow, and the snottiest fake accent he could muster. As you looked back, he noted Prince Benjen Stark. He glanced side to side, and then reentered and walked over.
"Prince Benjen," he said, cheerfully, "Ser Titus Grafton. I'd been meaning to pay my respects, but I fear I keep missing you."

"Ser Titus," Benjen said, smiling at the man. "Please sit, join me. I've heard of you but I could never put the name to the face. How did you find Mason's Keep?"

"It wasn't difficult, my Prince, I just followed everyone else," he laughed. "It was nice, actually, more people gathered than I'd ever have imagined, but I don't think I will miss it when I'm gone. Did the North acquit itself well in the tourney? I would have fought, but I was late, unfortunately."

"Ser Justin Mallister won the melee, if I heard correctly," Benjen informed him. "I myself did not compete... what happened to Meghan Lannister meant I had other things to settle."

"Meghan Lannister?" he asked. "I'm afraid I haven't heard a thing about that. Not too grave, I hope."

"When did you get here?" Benjen asked, sounding slightly amused. The happy expression left his face quickly. "Meghan died because of me. A choice I had to make."

Titus looked a bit put off by the news. "I only arrived this afternoon, bad weather and all. That's very sad, my Prince, I've no doubt you did all you could," he scowled. "Should you require anything of myself or house Grafton, let it be know we stand behind you."
