Tim hides his grin as he watches the exchange. Oh he liked this one. Most noblewoman would faint at the idea of going to a common born tavern, let alone the more disreputable parts of the city. "Up to you my lady." he says "Hightower will have anything you need. I will go get ready then, we'll leave as soon as you're good to go. It's getting dark."

Maekar raised an eyebrow in question,"If you cannot take that, you'll fair far better in the tavern." He nodded to Stone and rasped,"I'll be there when I know of something." Without a backward glance he walked out the door.

Morgan watched Maekar go. "I would have thought a nobleman would be better informed as to the proper manner of speaking to ladies," she remarked. "But no matter I purchased a new dagger and these leathers in Lannisport but I'll visit the armoury in case there is anything suitable for me to wear. Meet you at the gates in...half an hour?" She suggested to Tim.

Tim nods "Very well. I'll be there." He goes to wait at the gates, a heavy cloak over his axe and a pouch of money ready. Once Morgan gets there, they'll leave for the docks.

Morgan went first to her brother. "Arthur, I'm going out into the city. While I'm gone, could you speak with the courtiers and try to find out about any strange goings on regarding the Citadel or men selling a strange drug? And perhaps you could ask the men to talk to the garrison, see if they know anything interesting?"

Arthur nods. "Who is going with you?" He points to two guards. "With her. No armor, look quiet." He frowned. "Drugs, hm? And the Citadel is a damned hotbed of rumors right now."

"Yes. That's not so surprising. But we need as much information about them as we can. Lady Hightower's sworn man is going with me too," she said. She looked to the two guards. "Come with us but stay at a distance, we don't want to look like a threat, and you're obviously fighting men. So stay within sight but only get close if there's trouble."

The men nod. Arthur looks about. "I'll figure it out. Some northern lord is here; I'll go talk to him and make some sense of this."

"thank you. I'll see you soon."
She went to get dressed and armed and then she headed down to the gates to meet Tim. She wore a light shirt of mail over her leathers, had her hair tied back and concealed beneath a leather cap to keep it out of the way and two sharp daggers, one sheathed at either hip.

He straightened his back and pushed his hair behind his ears,"Thank you, my lady. As for Highgarden itself, should I allow it to fall into disrepair or am I given the reigns of acting castellan?" He took a second to speak again,"In addition, it would be of great help to both parties if I joined Lady Brax, is there anything I should be made aware of, besides what I have already seen and heard today?" "I am taking care of Highgarden with the king," Arania said. "I am long on rumor and short on facts right now, which is what," she nods to the departed, "they are for."

He nodded his head once,"Lady Arania, I've found that at times, rumors can be useful. Even if it's hearsay, what have you heard?" He thought that maybe a private solar would be better for sensitive information, away from prying eyes, but waited for her to continue.

She was growing a tad impatient, but for now her voice was still well modulated and calm. "I consort with demons and fornicate with wild animals," she said. "The masters behind this are spreading tales of everything to hide what is really going on. They are smarter than us," she said, "so I suspect most of my information from my sources are lies; that's why I have called in outsiders, untainted by assumption."

He bowed again, noting her irritation. "Thank you, my lady. I have much work to do, but I'll keep you informed." With that he turned on his heels and walked out.

///////////////
A page wearing the golden centaur of House Caswell arrives at the Hightower and makes himself known to a steward. Lord Connor of House Caswell has arrived in the city, the page conveys, and requests to meet with the Lady of the Hightower. A dinner, perhaps? The page relays gifts from House Caswell -- a cask of honeywine, a fine tapestry, and so on -- nothing too extravagant or obsequious, but a courteous gesture to make up for an unplanned visit. The boy waits patiently in the hall until a response works its way back to him.
