"Well, let's not get caught up in it. They won't let us ride around if they see us." Catherine turns her horse about.

"Nonsense, Catherine!" Ami said, shaking her head and laughing. "Surely some more interesting ladies of the Vale will be coming with them." She gave a sigh.

"And they'll be followed by the least interesting men who think we should sit inside our castles knitting all day. FUCK knitting."
Serena and Bethany Tully nod agreement.

Ami shakes her head. "I think I may go see if my father is with the train. I shall try to catch up with you!" She laughed and spurred her horse on towards the train, keeping a look out for Lord Royce himself.

It never takes long to find Lord Quenton Royce, his boisterous laugh and powerful voice cutting through the caravan like a winter wind. He is massive, six foot five, and probably three hundred pounds now in his elder years. Ami's older brother, Stephen, rides next to him; older than her by nine years they had never been close, but cordial enough. When the old man spies his daughter, he somehow dismounts his horse and approaches her. "My girl! She came all the way out here to see her old man! Give me a hug this instant!"

Amelia giggled and held her arms wide open, giving her daddy a hug. She pushed her head against his big chest and didn't let go. "It's been so long, father! How have you been? I see boar is still on the menu!"

"I am an oak, Ami; I never change. You still doing that nonsense with our 'friend' up north? Never trust a Bolton..." he grumbles. "But, you are so beautiful now, girl. Why are you not ruling somewhere even bigger than Runestone?"

"I don't quite fancy rulership just yet," Ami said with another giggle, finally pulling back. "And no, Malryas let me go a while ago; he said it was time I set off on my own."

"That doesn't sound like something he'd say...but no matter! Has that Stark fool come to his senses or do you want me to beat some into'em?!" Quenton's laugh reverberated through Ami's body, even a step away.

"He said it to me, not you," Ami said, giving a sly little wink. "And no, Benjen Stark is not a boy I would wish to marry. Too much history." She laughed. "How is mother?"

"She misses her only daughter! We aren't getting any younger but we'll still be going on until 400 or so i'd say. Show all them who thought we were too crazy to survive past forty!" He shakes his head in some form of exaggerated confusion. Everything about lord Quenton Royce is as exaggerated as he could make it, to avoid people from noticing the clever mind within. 'Too much history...the things kids say these days...I shoulda shipped you off to that Hightower lad like your mother suggested. 'It's a seven hunnerd foot tall tower,' she says. I say, man needs a seven hundred foot tower, he is lacking where it matters." He laughs once more and takes a enormous swig from a flask.

Amelia laughed. "Oh father, I know you would have never let them ship me off to some far away place. You love me too much!" She looked back at the group of girls she had ridden out with, who were presumably riding off somewhere else, before turning back to her father. "I think I may visit Dorne again after this sojourn to Mason's Keep. I like the heat, and Sunspear was an interesting city."

He made a face like he'd stepped in horse droppings. "One day I am going to find out if your mother had an affair with a Dornishman; there's no way that love of burning alive came from me."

Ami gave her father a sweet smile. "Even if she did, you must forgive her; for she gave you me!" She laughed and took her fathers hand with a bright smile.

The huge man grumbles something, then kisses her cheek. "Well, we'll call it a draw, at least." The caravan moves at a steady pace towards Eddard's Rest.
